I am in the market for a cheap color printer that can print good pictures and at a good speed. I was looking at maybe buying the Canon S300 and S500, does anyone have this printer? Is it good? And also, can anyone recommend another color printer that might be good?

I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

I recentley purchased an HP 950 from COSTCO for $139.

It works so well that my 16 year daughter took it from me.

My dad just bought a Photosmart 1315 that is absolutely incredible. (http://products.hp-at-home.com/products/detail.php?id=C8634A&j=1).

He also has a 990cse that he uses for non-photo stuff. (http://products.hp-at-home.com/products/detail.php?id=C6455B&j=1).

My computer has an Epson C40UX, not that great with photos, (but then again, it doesn't have to be with a hp1315 downstairs), but its good with documents.

I just bought a Canon S500.
It installed flawlessly via USB.
Its fine n dandy print wise..
I like the idea of having separate ink cartridges (black being larger than the others). Might save some money in the long run since I tend to have periods of text printing alternating with a bunch of photos/graphics.

I just bought an HP Officejet V40. My Laserjet 4 Plus fell off of the desk and broke. Anyway. This printer is awesome. Only $299!!!! Prints out just as fast as laser, has incredible color, fax, and built in color/black and white scanner. If you need a new peinter, this is the deal!!! Does anyone else have this printer?

Inkjets are only good if you absolutley need to print in colour. If you only need black and white, I'd reccomend picking up a used HP LaserJet. The price per page is far, far less than inkjets, and HP are great reliable printers. I picked up a 5L last August for less than $100CDN last summer including the cartridge.

My family has a Canon BJC-4100 and also a BJC-4200. They're quite fast  Big thumbs up, but the ink caterages (spelling?) are always getting spoilt. Pissed
