So what did you do for Valentines Day? Being single once again, I met up with a firend of mine with whom I used to date for a short period in Sept, and she took me to the Seattle Symphony. I bought her a nice dinner at the Brasserie Marguex in downtown Seattle before we headed off for the Benaroya Hall for some incredible music. I was home by 10:15, so no funny business for me tonight.
So what did end up you doing?

Well the wife and I have been insanely busy lately - with both the boys, and with me in training for the new Black Hawk. So needless to say, there hasn't been a lot of "just us" time.
But my parents are down here visiting and meeting their new grandchildren, so they took the boys for the night, and the wife and I went out to a nice restaurant in Birmingham and then stayed at a nice hotel. It was very nice to have a night to ourselves. Especially since I'll be deploying again soon, we need to enjoy every moment.

Went grocery shopping for my elderly mother, went home and checked email....threw some frozen fish and spicy fries into the oven, ate and then fell asleep watching 'Lost'.....pretty much the same Valentine's Day pattern for the past 30 or so years....

Last Friday, at UCSF Medical Center, there was a free workshop in Valentine card making offered for any students and staff who wanted to do so. There was an ample supply of craft materials spread out on tables. So I took the opportunity to put together a lovely, creative Valentine card for my mother, who lives in Fort Wayne, IN. I sent the card home via USPS Priority Mail due to its large size. I sent it Monday morning, so it must have gotten to Fort Wayne in time!

Wife flew for work all day, I got home when she was supposed to land in late afternoon... but her flight got delayed and didn't land until the restaurants closed! Oh well, at least it's 3 days in Bali with her next week! I guess that'll make up for a failed valentine's plan!

Being totally single, stayed home and called a few close friends who live distant to keep in touch...
the night before, went to another church for Lenten service to deliver in person a card and 14 verse poem for a friend who lost her husband 2 1/2 yrs ago...it was their anniversary date so I know it was rough on her...so wrote the rhymes to cheer up plus remember her hubby...she was pleased with results...so I try to be nice to others basically...

Well the girlfriend lives in YVR and I live in YLW, so I did not get to see her, though I gave her a nice romantic aviation related Valentines day card. Before you make fun of me being your typical a.netter, she is also a pilot . I found out I have Mono, which really sucks. At the end of the month she is coming up and because it was her birthday Feb 4th I am taking her out for a nice couples massage and a night at one of the areas nicer resorts (the Jcuzzi suite ). So that is going to be "Valentines Day".
