Don't confuse 'cool' with 'rich'...

Those 2 adjectives are worlds apart.

What is a "super car" any way?

Ferrari or a Lambo are 'exotic cars'.
"Super" could be any car that has made an impact regardless of whether it's good or bad.
The original VW bug, 1965 Ford Mustang, Ford Pinto, Ford Model-T, Dodge Aries K can be considered super cars based on the impact they have made.

Supercar is a term generally used for a high-end sports car, whose performance is highly superior to that of its contemporaries. It has been defined specifically as "a very expensive fast or powerful car with a centrally located engine"[1], and stated in more general terms: "it must be very fast, with sporting handling to match," "it should be sleek and eye-catching" and its price should be "one in a rarified atmosphere of its own."[2] but the proper application of the term is subjective and disputed, especially among enthusiasts. The use of the term can be dependent on the era: a vehicle that may have been considered a supercar at one time may not retain its superiority indefinitely.[citation needed] The term supercar may refer to factory-built, street-legal sports cars, or to modified production cars that have similar performance.[3] Some supercars include some of the features required for race cars, like the roll cage, [4] while other supercars are in general race cars with only the minimum legal required modifications made (e.g. meeting emission regulations, legal tyres, limited exhaust note) to be street legal -- i.e. not at all comfortable nor practical, especially e.g. on the arbitrary city roads found in the real world.

Not exactly. Porsches, and the more pedestrian Ferraris, Corvettes, etc. are sports cars, not Supercars, IMHO.

A supercar would be highly exclusive, very expensive, and just takes performance on a whole new level. Such as The Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo, Piganni Zonda, or Saleen S7 (Yes, an American car is in there!).

I' am looking into buying one as well, but the R8 is not a supercar in my opinion!

I agree,
the latter cars are (unfortunatly) not for us mere mortals with normal jobs!

I find it interesting that anyone would brag about owning an IS-F. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car. But nothing to really write home about.

The IS is a chick car, anyway. Around here there are several sorority girls that drive them, but I've never seen a man behind the wheel of one.

How completely offensive! Don't pretend to know anything about me, my husband, and who contributes what in our marriage.

Well, judging from your postings you're obviously very intelligent and have refined taste in automobiles. And you've correctly pegged JCS as sometimes being very offensive.
