OMG! 7 Children By The Age Of 16

I can't envisage me having one child by the time I'm 30, nevermind being a mother to 7 at the young age of 16. This girl should have been told about contraception a hell of a long time ago.

I'm sorry, WHAT?! This person is insane. CONTRACEPTION!! is your friend. I've heard of the odd teenage pregnancy here and there, but 7 children by 16? Wow, just wow, some incredible sperm and eggs there.

To be a little fair, you guys are basically saying she has gotten pregnant 7 times. She has gotten pregnant 3 times and I'm sure shes pretty pissed off about it too. Not to mention the fact that the article states she is turning 17 on Monday so she basically is 17, bad but not quite as bad.

Quoting JCS17 (Reply 2):

You have no evidence for that, you can only prove she has had sex 3 times. Maybe she has learnt her lesson and will stop screwing around and look after the kids she has. What this girl needs is support not our undieing abuse at how bad she is and how stupid she is for getting pregnant 3 times, the fact that a freak 2 sets of triplets (it really is) is almost irrelevant. Although I believe she may no have learnt after the first kid one would think that after a set of triplets you'd stop. With 4 kids under the age of 2 one would think that extra-curricular activities like having sex would be at the back of her mind but apparently not.

Even if she only had sex 3 times, giving birth to 7 children doesn't exactly keep things tight down there... I would even go as far to speculate she's had to have surgery and will end up with scars and abnormalities down there.

Quoting QFA380 (Reply 5):

She should have learned it the first time, especially a second time, but a third? That shows serious lack of care/judgment.

Quoting QFA380 (Reply 5):

Yes, support is important. However, there comes a time when enough is enough. That time came after the first pregnancy.

All of them were born premmie so not quite the strain on down there as a normal birth. She will definitely not be the most attractive woman down there, but should have thought about before she got pregnant.

I think what could do it for her is the international publicity this is getting. Right now she is hopefully get a great deal of support and possibly sympathy. I can tell you though that if she gets pregnant again she'll likely become an outcast in society.

I really feel sorry for the kids, I can tell you that any child born to a young mother is going to get loads of shit from other kids. It may not be in your face stuff but kids whisper and shock each other. This will be worst when they are in their teens, especially bad for the girls (all 6 of them).

Sad...

Shit, a girl her age, whether she be 16 or 17, shouldn't even have ONE kid.

One has to wonder about the mental health of this woman. Multiple pregnancies by age 16 is not normal or healthy. The young woman should also be required to get her tubes tied or to use long term implant type birth control, but as she is in Argentina, probably contraception and abortion are not options. I think she should consider putting some of her children up for adoption by couples who want children and can't conceive on their own. At least then these children can have a decent life.

I would also question the mentality of the men who have de facto raped her as she was under 18. Seems like some guys are extremely stupid to have sex with such a young woman and worse, not use a condom. If rape charges can't be brought against them, I would hope that the guys who are the fathers get a nice bill for the next 21 years for fathering these children.

What a world we live in eh?

I was shocked to find this week that a girl in my year has just had a child. I can't quite understand why anyone would want a child at the tender age of sixteen. But each to their own

Wow!! 7 kids before the age of 17...this is insane! I was 17 when my daughter was born and that was already pretty distressful...also a co-worker of mine became a father by the age of 14 (!!!! - the mother was 17, so that's a plus for him Silly ), but this is too much. Could some Argentinian chime in please? What is he legal age of consent in Argentina (between various countries it can vary from as low as 14 up to 18). Then, the BBC article stated that the place the girl lives in is quite remote in the mountains. In how far are contraceptives available and affordable? Any religious obstacles in obtaining them? (E.g. about 7 years ago my girlfriend and myself were travelling through rural western Ireland, near the pilgrimage town of Knock. We ran out off condoms and I went to several drug stores in the region, who all refused to sell them to me saying that selling contraceptives was against their religion, even though they were legal. So what do you do if you live in a region where all shop owners refuse to sell them and you can't travel?)
What about the availability of sexual education? What did she know about the biologics of having sex?

Use the tradesman's entrance/Go Greek or even get off the bus one stop early!

Would she not be self taught after her first child? Even if it took her to her first set of twins to learn she surely should have worked things out by then regardless of location.

Crude I know but the words spunk bucket and clown's pocket jump to mind!

For most people. But this girl is probably physically prone to twin or triplets for a genetic reason.

Also, she has six daughters. Think about that for just a minute. What if they also are prone to having triplets..

Well who's fault is that? She should have at least tried to protect herself after the first one. She shouldn't be pissed off cause its just her and her "partners" fault.

Well...you could not have sex if you're not willing to face the consequences. I know it's a revolutionary concept.

Hahaha... true, but people could also avoid air pollution by just not breathing.

I really love when preachers go to Africa and preach abstinence, as if that will cure AIDS. That kind of message has killed many people, and perhaps saved 1 or 2 as well.

Maverick, if I'm not mistaken, you mentioned at some stage that you were gay, so very little chance of your partner becoming pregnant.  Yeah sure

Sex and procreation is in the end our biological purpose to spread our genes. The drive to procreate is so strong that it can temporarely switch off the ability to think. In German we are not for nothing talking about "Schwanzgesteuerte Maenner" (Cock controlled men). Women might be a bit more choicy, but are in the end just as controlled by biology as the guys.
