If you rent a car when you travel where do you rent it from Hertz, Budget, etc.

Update the numbers in your post, and if you rent your car from a rental agency that is not mentioned yet, add it!!!

Hertz: 1

Budget.

They always have what I want, never had a problem with them and usually get upgrades. Budget is a great company.

Perhaps stateside, but not in Canada. I've rented from them in YXC in fall. I asked for an intermediate car (which is elsewhere a Malibu or G6) and they gave me a Focus! I'd hate to see what they call compact.

My favourite is Avis.

That was a downgrade, because the Focus-Platform is CDMR

Not really, the rental agreement clearly said intermediate. Unfortunately, they haven't had anything else on site. Too bad that Avis moved out from YXC.

I'll go with whatever combination is the cheapest and gives me the most frequent flyer miles.

Last week I did budget since they had a promotion for 3000 DL miles for renting - no other car company came close to matching that promotion.

I am a gold member with Hertz, but I have also used Enterprise with good results. I tied Dollar and will never use them again, I don't care if I have to take a cab to another airport at my destination to get to another rental car agency. So I will give a tally to both Hertz and Enterprise...

Avis: 1
Budget: 1
Hertz: 3
Europcar: 1

Enterprise: 1

I rent trucks more often than cars.. hertz once lost my company direct billing details, that made me angry enough never to use them again so now I only use budget for cars. And for trucks, penske for the BIG trucks and budget for the little ones.

I ALWAYS book my rental cars through www.arguscarhire.com. They always seem to come up with the cheapest deals, regardless of who the actual renter turns out to be! At the end of the day, I don't really care who that happens to be, as long as I get a good deal with all extras, insurance etc. included, which it always is with those guys.

Mostly Enterprise because they offer decent choice at what is usually the best price, but I will go somewhere else if they have a good deal and I get miles out of it.

For some damn reason Thrifty always has a good "Mystery Car" everytime I pick that category. Last month I got a brand new Malibu with 6 miles on the clock in IND

I go with Alamo most of the time, So I will give both tallies.
