Update: Gas Prices In Your Neck Of The Woods

President Bush stated last week that he never heard of the possibility of $4/a gallon gas in the US.
Saw a picture in the morning paper of a Shell Station in Redwood City, CA (1/2 hour south of San Francisco) that had regular posted at 3.99; midgrade at 4.09 and premium at 4.19.
So what are you paying now, in my area Shell is 3.01 and QT is 2.99 (East of Phoenix) Phoenix is supposed to have some of the lowest gas prices in the nation right now.

For regular gasoline...

$3.48/gallon at the Shell a mile from my house.
$3.53/gallon at the Chevron a little further down the same road.

It'll hit $4 or so by the summer, and it ain't coming down.

The cheapest I have seen regular unleaded in the Atlanta area in the last few days is $2.11/gal at some independent gas station that is right next door to a RaceTrac (major regional chain here in the Southeast) and since it opened (I should say reopened as it had been closed for several years) it always has priced its' gas a penny cheaper than RaceTrac. When I filled up my work vehicle on Tuesday, I paid $3.08 at the above mentioned RaceTrac. Their main sign had $3.15/gal, but they hadn't had a chance to change the prices at the pumps.

The average price right now is around $3.15/gal.

To get the cheapest gas in town, you have to be a Sam's Club, Costco, BJ's member, or have a Wal-Mart credit card, as they knock a few cents off the posted price.

Once you get inside of I-285, the prices jump drastically, 15-20 cents (or more). Same is somewhat true in regards to stations right off of the interstates anywhere in town.

Quoting ANCFlyer (Reply 5):
Diesel in Anchorage: $3.57/G

That's cheaper than it is here in the Atlanta area. The average price is around $3.65-$3.70/gal, with some places charging as much as $3.89/gal.
