Holy crap they're playing on a Macedonian Airlines plane?!?!?! AWESOME!!  Wink  duck

I will be at...none of them. I saw them about 6 years ago in Chicago. Good concert...really good concert...but I don't need to see them again. I'd rather spend my money on sports tickets  Wink

I am so excited that the dates were finally announced i was getting a little worried....I am even more excited for new material they may have coming out with this tour!!!!!

what are you experience with dave's music and or his concerts?

Best concert I have been to was tampa 04 or cannot remember exactly but later i will post the set list but they played:

but this year I am confident almost every concert eh hee, and corn bread were played or atleast one of them but What was great was Eh Hee, Lie in our graves was just finishing the jam section and I was waiting for the outro, the song has faded to nothing, them BANG right into eh hee, I was pissed and stoked a the same time. Where is the LIOG outro??? but its all good because eh hee is playing....Then after eh hee right into the outro...O man it was so exciting!!!!!!!

Lets hear your stories

Wouldn't be the first time a band has done that :P A Danish band played a concert in a NB plane a few years ago, to celebrate a new album being released Big grin

Personally, I'm looking forward to this summer and seeing what kind of mayhem Neil Young can bring to Roskilde. Last time he was here, he played non-stop for 3 hours and went way over his scheduled time, but noone dared to stop the show Big grin

Even though none of my 3 favorites are on there, ( Pig, Crush, Warehouse) it was still an amazing show and probably had the best encore the band has played in a long time. Night 3 at the Gorge '06 was sick also with LIOG, JTR, Crush, Dreaming Tree, Last Stop and Digging a Ditch all in a row. That plus a Granny > Typical opener with a Watchtower encore comes damn close to beating that night 2 in Vegas.

Alaska

this year when Dave and his Band played Dreaming Tree in tampa that concert suddenly was great, I love the song, and for a long time it was not played so i figured the odds would be slim i would get to hear it, when they played the intro to Dreaming tree 3 times throughout the concert before actually playing it. then he finally did it, and i was a very very happy camper....then i found out he played that, and sweet up and down the next night at WPB...i was ticked

I listen to the MGM shows on my i pod, those shows are a great listen, and I totally understand why you would think it was such a great show....

Brad

one i would love to hear monkey man live!!! i figure i can keep dreaming

what do you know about the new album?

well about as much as everyone else at this point, recording in Seattle with Tim, forget the producers name but whatever, They have enough for at least 2 discs of songs but I'm sure a lot of it will be cut down. The songs from '04, and '06 are probably dead with exception of Shotgun and possibly Idea of You. Sweet Up and Down was pre-recorded in C-ville in the fall along with the new ones like Cornbread, Eh-hee, #27 ect....Run While You Can is up in the air, I for one would love to hear it on the new album. Thats about all I got...This album will definatly be better than Stand Up, Everyday and Busted Stuff but I doubt it will stand up to Crash, UTTAD or BTCS...

Yeah according to dmbalmanac.com Sweet up and Down was on the setlist for the Gorge night 3 this year but got scratched cause dave's voice was shot....I was pissed, plus we got Everyday as the encore for the 3rd night!!!! Everyday for the Gorge, he had already played a mid-set watchtower with Robert Randolf and had everything set up for a Halloween encore but nope we got Everyday.....

I'll be in Phoenix this year. And maybe LA too. If I can get up to the Gorge I'd like to see them play there at least once.

Quoting Ffis34 (Reply 2):

I've seen them 3 times now I believe. First time was in probably '99 or so, at Foxborough Stadium in Massachusetts. Wasn't too familiar with their stuff at that time, but it was a great concert.

Saw them again a year or two later - same venue, but I was much more familiar with the music. So from that perspective, it was even better.

Saw them the 3rd time last year at the Hollywood Bowl (I think) in LA. I believe it was the last night of the tour, and they brought John Mayer out as a special guest. They also brought out Stephen and Ziggy Marley (Stephen opened for them).

Funny thing about that show - it took bringing out John Mayer to get everyone on their feet. That was weird to me.

I'm more of a fan of the first 3 albums, so I wasn't into a lot of the newer stuff they played at the last show. Oh well.

woa. woa. woa. back up here Alaska

I know about as much as you with the new album its the same guy that did my chem, and alanis morsette. Anyway did you say sweet up and down was pre recorded as in, possibly, maybe, it will be offically released on an album!!!!!!!! I have no idea why but i LOVE that song, and monkey man...

what are you guess's and what would you like to see on the new album

sweet up and down
the idea of you
JOY RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Break free- this could be a beautiful song
JTR(I can dream)
#27
eh hee
corn bread
shot gun

would love that as a new album, plus i would love to hear some fresh studio sounds, I have devoted my I pod to DMB and I have noticed a constant Live Concert thing going on lately.

I really did like stand up, I do not know why some feel it was so bad. I think its a far stretch from the bands normal style, a little lighter, and not as layered, but I still liked it...minus louisana bayou, never did until I heard it live.

I wish i could get to a concert with Warren Haynes or RRandTFB. I am a huge fan of Mike Doughty as well, It was Mike and DMB that founded ASTB it was a 7 minute segue between smts and too much. But I am really loving the pause and then the brief staccato notes, freeze then ASTB....

we shall see...

Alaska, I just made my request on the warehouse for Tampa, but i have never been lucky on the Warehouse, but i keep trying and keep paying my 35 bucks every year, but i am still deciding if i should go ahead with WPB requests. This year is a tough year with college, so I cannot go to all the FL concerts this year.

I one day will see them at the gorge and red rocks!

Yeah it was on an antsmarching.org podcast that SUAD was pre-recorded, so we can only hope.

my hope for the new album is:

Shotgun intro >
Shotgun
Cornbread
Run While you Can
New Song
Dream So Real
Eh Hee
SUAD
#27
New Song
New Song

Something like that....
Breakfree, Joyride and JTR, as much as I love them are dead and I believe Idea of You is dead as well unless it gets some extensive reworking which is possible....If I had it my way Granny would be on there along with Crazy Easy.

Yeah I agree with you about live concerts, they are far better then the studio albums, thats bascilly all I listen too as far as DMB, but Mike Doughty man hell yeah, hes one of my favorites along with David Gray and Bob Dylan.

And I do like Stand Up, its an Improvement from Busted Stuff and Everyday but Its not up to caliber with the first 4 which is fine, Im glad that there able to change and adapt its just not my favorite album.

Big version: Width: 1600 Height: 1200 File size: 437kb

This is where you got to go!

We did not stand for John Mayer, we stood because we knew #41 was going to be played.

The Potheads in the crowd went crazy when Stephen and Ziggy and Flag Guy came on stage cause they knew Bob Marley's Exodus was coming. Pot was in the air for that one.

If I pay $60 (or even $20) to go to a concert, you better believe I'm standing for the whole damn show. Even if everyone around me is sitting down. But that's just me.

And you may be correct about a lot of the people, but the people in my section distinctly all stood up and cheered right when he said "...John Mayer."

Heh, pot was in the air for the whole show. Just maybe a bit more of it for that one.

10 of us saw them in YOW in 2002 after driving up from ITH. The next day on the ten hour drive back down to ITH six of us, including myself, got violently ill with food poisoning. We pretty much had to stop every twenty minutes for someone to jump out and vomit or sh!t everything they've ever consumed in the last twenty years. We had to stop at a hospital in Watertown because someone got so dehydrated. I haven't listened to DMB since. Nothing personal Wink
