For any of you that are interested in the American Le Mans Series, here is a few thoughts from the 12 Hours of Sebring:
The #7 Team Penske/DHL Porsche RS Spyder with drivers Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Emmanuel Collard. It marked the first win overall for a LMP-2 car at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
I am glad the Porsche won. I got so damned sick of that ugly piece of shit Audi R8/R10 winning every year. I am glad that manufactures have awoke and built a car to compete with the Audi's. I was also highly impressed with the Peugeot 908 and believe they would of won overall if they did not have problems.

I thought the reason the Porsche won, was due to Audi having problems with their car.
On the bright side, glad to see Big Mag (Jan Magnussen) and Corvette taking the win in their class. Their battles with Aston Martin are always interesting to follow, since the Astons have the speed but the Corvettes have the reliability!

LOL, The Audi's did have some problems that helped the Porsche win, however the Porsche's are nearly as fast and have proven to be reliable.
As a Corvette fan I was also glad to see them take the GTS class. I like the Aston Martin also.
I wonder how long until Ferrari will come back into the LMP class?

You can add Toyota, BMW, Mercedes etc to that list (though that's probably never going to happen). I have a DVD boxset of Le Mans recaps from the past couple of years & 1999 really was a peak in terms of getting the major factories to join in.

That would be nice. Thats cool that you have the old DVD. They really had some awesome cars then.

They had to adjust a right front pushrod, and later change the front brake rotors - which supposedly will last 30 hours at Le Mans. That cost them 3+ laps, but they were on the lead lap at the finish.
Too bad about the Fernandez Acura getting DQ'd from 2nd overall (they failed the post-race airbox integrity test), they had a great race.

My guess is never as a factory unless F1 dies. And now that Ferrari has the contract to build A1GP cars, they're going to be really busy.

Quoting Duff44 (Reply 5): Coming back, though not in LMP. Here's the new GT2-class M3:
Not bad - to me, the GT classes are usually the most interesting race at Le Mans anyway. Apart from the works Aston Martins & Corvettes, there's the countless number of Porsches, Ferraris and the oddities (like the Morgan & the black Lambo) that always makes for an interesting race. My "pet hobby" for the last couple of Le Mans races have been to pick a completely random car (usually on the bascics of a hilarious name, driver or car type) and root for that all the way through
Quoting Duff44 (Reply 5): 1955 and 1999 will do that...
1999 showed them as an interesting contender in Air Racing though

Um yea that ugly piece of shit won 8 years in a row, and probably would've made it 9 if it didn't have problems.
When was the last time Porsche won? 20 years go?
Enjoy!

Your going to make me puke. I was waiting for some body to say that. LOL. I think the Peugeot 908 would of won if they didnt have problems. They were kicking the shit out of the Audi's at the start of the race.

Come to think of it.... deep down inside, I wish I could fit in anything we saw at Sebring...
I wish Peugeot would commit to running the PLM or Laguna so I can book my trip. But will be at Lime Rock hell or high water!

I think all of us would like to drive the R10. I currently drive a 98 Camaro Z28 with a few mods. I am planning on getting a Toyota Tundra 4X4 for my daily driver and a Corvette Z06 after I get my business started.
