Within the humble state that I've always called my home, there's a petition going around. This petition is to secede from this charade of a country. The economy is in the crapper, and now, I hear the Feds want to take our guns away.

WHAT?!??!

What is this? We can't afford gas to go to the few Big Box Stores to load up on preservative-rich, fatty meat, so we go hunt. But no. Now we're told we can't hunt but in a few "designated areas", and with what? Sticks?

Forget you, USA. You've done nothing for Montana, and now, we'll do nothing for you. Thanks, btw, for those nuclear missiles you've left in our ground. We will be the world's 4th largest nuclear power. How's that for mud in your eye?

I hear Leroy Schweitzer is running for El Presidente Supreme. I'd follow him anywhere...

Seriously?

Of all the reasons to not like the current affairs in the US.. You should be thanking the government for watching out for you and taking guns away. Guns kill. That is all they do. Isn't there enough killing already to go around without needing anymore? Sure, you hunt.. but red meat is bad for you anyways. You should start cultivating soy. It's much more healthy for you anyways.

Guns don't kill. People kill. Using guns. But if there's no guns, they'll just use knives or other deadly implements. Guns can be used for killing people.

Soy is healthy, but so is red meat. And some people are allergic to soy, and others - the more manly men - don't really appreciate the synthetic oestrogen properties of soy.

Back to guns for a second though: If you're out in the wilderness, and a bear attacks you, wouldn't you be glad if you were packing a .40 subcompact semiautomatic? I mean, it's mauling you. All you gotta do is get it out and cap the thing a few times and you're probably gonna survive. I mean, rifles are good and all that - but protection from wildlife begs for handguns!

Ah yes. I flushed some down the toilet this morning right before I shaved and showered.

Go back to TexASS you Southern Nutjob. Hope the Mexicans invade and turn your hippy existence into a neuvo East-LA...

I hear you shmucks also say red meat makes you hostile. Come take my guns away and I'll show you hostile....

I steadfastly support the State of Montana in this endeavour. For too long the Federal government has overextended and is infringing on the states' rights. It's about time some state grew a pair and is trying to take a stand against this ridiculousness.

Kudos Montana.

I want to move to Montana. No hurricanes to deal with, most of the drivers are insured, everyone speaks English, no speed limits, you get to pack your heat...

Only drawback is Great Falls is colder than a polar bear's ass crack.

Part of me believes there's a little MDorBust clicking his slippers saying "There's no place like home!"

Yea, yea - and like I saw posted on this very forum a few weeks ago - if guns kill people, then spoons made Rosie fat!

Montana won't have any luck with their plans to secede IMO.

If (and I know it has a snowball's chance in hell) this comes to pass, you can be sure that Texas won't be far behind. And I'll be the one at the State Capitol screaming loudest supporting it!

Oh, and thanks for creating such a high quality thread for us to discuss this issue, GQ.  Wink
