We had a fire at school today. An overhead projector on the first floor caught fire, and filled one of the hallways with thick smoke. Now I won't take fire drills as a social time. I never thought we would need to know escape routes. The classes all in that main hallway had to reroute to alternate escape routes, it was a real mess. Nobody hurt though, and the teacher got the fire put out. Of course, the fire department vented the entire first floor, but I guess it was a good idea. Anybody else ever had a fire at school?

We once had a fire where someone set a trashcan on fire in the middle of a hall. No injuries, limited damage. We had 2 bomb threats a few years ago that were pretty scary...Had to walk a little further away than in your customary fire drill. Needless to say there was no bomb either time...

Bomb threats. If I counted them, there'd be a lot. We have had a lot of "Code Green's" lately. That means undisclosed threats, ex: bomb threat, lately. Last week of January, we had 3 (in that one week).

Oh have I ever!
We once had 21 fire drills in a year and three real fires, two were set and one was caused by water from the sprinkler system leakling on fire alarm which caused it to short out. That was after we had already come in from the previous fire @ 745 am! I still remember the principal had to come on and tell us to get out because the ceiling in his office was on fire. We also lost all our trophies because the sprinklers went off in the Trophy Room!

Hhhmm, while I was in English a couple of months back, we were watching a video about horror. We had been moved into a Science room, which wasn't really geared for a TV and so it was put along way from the socket, leaving the power cable taught over a gap. The lights were switched off, and half way through the lesson, a girl wanted to go to the toilet, so off she went, behind the TV so that she didn't get in the way, not seeing the cable, walked into it, dragged the TV off the table which landed on its screen, and burst into flames. We all ran out, laughing LOL. It was quite weird, because it was one of those things that you would think the whole class would go crazy about, but most people couldn't care less, some people didn't even want to leave!!!

Someone pulled the fire alarm when I was at school one time. All 1000 of us had to stand outside in the parking lot for 1 hour (in the WINTER TIME) before they let us back in.

When I was in high school, I was staying after school one day working on a woodworking project and the alarm went off. I thought it was a false alarm but I went outside and sure enough the building was on fire. It was confined to the crawlspace on one corner of the building and it was mostly roof tar that burned. There wasn't a whole lot of damage, not enough to close the building or anything.
It was interesting (and quite comical) to see the sherrif's deputies and fire department handle the situation.
When we had bomb threats in the wintertime, we walked over to the school buses and they turned them on since they were kept at the high school.

Yeah and we once had a gas leak, but we didn't know until the teacher from next door told us. We didn't hear the announcement, so we just kinda' didn't care.

Someone pulled the first alarm at our school last week when the weather was like -20c. I was wearing a t-shirt didn't stop shivering untill 15 mins after we got inside. We were outside for a good 45 mins. I wasn't the happiest camper for the rest of the day.

When I was in grade one half of my school burnt to the ground (All of the portible classrooms). It happened before any classes started though so thankfully nobody was hurt.
