Well, first off I'd like to congratulate all you Canadians on winning the gold medal. But I've come up with an idea. Do you Americans think that if we convince Dubya that Canada had something to do with September 11th, he'd take them over so it can't happen again?  Wink/being sarcastic I'd also like to point out to some conspiracy theorists that though the ref was Canadian, they won because they outplayed the US. That is how it works in the Olympics. Some people from other countries attribute their teams elimination from the olympics due to made up bad officiating.

I'm glad you have some respect for the game and realize that for the first two periods it was far from an even contest. It was only a matter of time before the goals started going in in buckets for Canada. The Americans cranked on the pressure in the third but it was too little too late and the offensive pressure opened up holes on defence.

Thanks to the US for playing a clean game and accepting the result.

CPDC10-30,

I couldn't agree more! Reffing was fair, both sides took a penalty here and there nothing arguable. It was just pure hockey. Canada totally outplayed the U.S.

The U.S. was good, but Canada was better.

What a game!!!

I have a little bit more than some respect for the game. I'm a goalie, that game is my life.

The referee was unbiased. THe best team won in the end. Though for American ref's it can't be said. Did anyone else see that horrible moron calling the womans game? Canada won but it was against team USA and the ref.

Blaming Canada for September 11th is probably one of the stupidest and most ridiculous things I have ever heard. For along with the U.K., Canada is a trusted friend of the U.S. We all know that jack@%! Osama Bin Laden was responsible, and since he has had a history of anti-US terrorism attacks, the world is fighting against him. Canada, historically, has never attacked the U.S. So, why would Dubya blame Canada?

..Then again, Dubya almost got the US into a war with China. So, who knows?

Although I was a little surprised that the ref was from Guelph, Ontario, he has a good reputation and once the game got underway it was clear who the better team was, so in the end the reffing had nothing to do with the end result. Canada was by far the best team that day, and frankly, given how much it means to the Canadians, I'm glad they won.

The fact that the enitre auditorium stood for the Canadian national anthem shows the respect Americans had for the outstanding talent and sportsmanship of their neighbors.

I thought it was a great game.
