..the incredible story of a French pharmacist ( !!!! ) who parked his car in full sun close to the city of Grenoble in front of his pharmacy, leaving his two year old sun unattended.
Temperature in the car rose to over 45 ° celsius, causing the death of the cild.
When policemen alerted by pedestrians smashed the window to pull the child out of the car,it was too late already.
Can someone explainto me how a pharmacist can leave his only child for more then two hours in bright sun in a closed car ??????

Being a pharmacist does not mean you have common sense or the know how to be a parent.

Sheesh, and I feel bad when I leave my daughter in my car on a hot day with the doors closed or more than 60 seconds...I can't imagine leaving her there for longer than that.

The guy is never going to forget this momentary lapse in concentration for the rest of his life. I pity the guy.
For the child - rest in peace.

This sadly happens more often than you think (at least in the US).

I've called the cops at least a dozen times upon seeing similar things done with dogs instead of children. Leaving the windows open a crack on a 90F day can kill a dog in a very brief time.

So many morons out there.

I saw the same thing here 5 years ago at a grocery store parking lot.
I called security and the police. We tried to stall her before the cops came because we wanted her to get arrested.
When she saw me and a security guard standing in front of her car, she ran out and jumped in her car and speed off.

This was in an upscale community (Walnut Creek) and she was in a brand new BMW 5-series wagon. This lady certainly had some wealth. There is no correlation between wealthy, education and common sense.

Something similar happened last year where I live. Little kid (21 months old) died too. Father went too work, forgot he had to drop of his kid at the day-care center (or whatever you call them), and did not remember until he received a call several hours later when a family member went to collect the child at the centre. Kid was still alive but died later in the hospital.

Hi to all,

Same thing happened around where I live (Rhode Island in the US) ... father was supposed to drop off the child at day care, instead he went right to work and forgot the child. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

I cannot even image the horror of losing a child.

I really can't imagine forgetting a child in a car...However, it seems to happen when a routine is broken. i.e. Father taking the child instead of mom.. It appears that these incidents have dramatically increased when the law required the child to be put in a car seat in the back instead of the front seat. Then if the child is sleeping and a persons routine is not to have the child they can easily forget the child is back there..That is why the recommend that you keep one of the child toys in the front passenger seat like a stuffed animal as a reminder that your kid is in the back seat.

The other thing is (for the US incidents), how many of these occur when the child is an infant? In the US, you can turn the seat around at 12 months and then all of a sudden the child can see you and interact with you, and you can see the child in your rearview mirror.

This happens at least once or twice a summer in Phoenix. Last summer I was at Chandler mall and a woman locked her kids in the car. She was afraid to break the windows because she thought her husband would get mad at her. So she waited until the fire department came to open the car.

Happens about once or twice a year here as well. And some of the worst offenders were day care van operators. They would park the van at the end of their runs and not bother to go throught the van to see if a child is sleeping. Very tragic situation for all involved. The state of Tennessee has passed numerous laws in an effort to eliminate this from happening and it does appear to be helping some.
