I think Obama is onto something here. If all airlines worldwide will just properly inflate the tires on their jets, all will be swell.

Remember, we can inflate our way out of this mess!

Obama offered a practical way in which people can get more bang for their bucks with the current fuel climate: make sure they have properly inflated tires so as to not damage fuel performance.

But hey, it means lots of Republican's can pretend to think it's his solution to everything for a while, until they start talking about his pastor or middle name again or whatever.

Another way they could cut costs is by not letting massive disgraces like Rush Limbaugh onto their planes; or at least tax them alot more.

While it's obviously a good idea, his claim that doing so would save as much fuel as opening other sources was asinine.

Nice!! LOL!!! Rush would have to require more fuel onboard due to the massive pressence is ego takes up you know. Makes the plane heavier and all.

Did he actually say what you have just said? If I remember reading the entire text of the plan that was just one of many issues that were presented as methods to deal with rising cost. Both sides have done plenty make themselves look foolish. Personally I see the current administration as a disgrace but not everyone would share that opinion (but seems to be the majority). McCain in all likelihood would present a continuation of the Bush presidency. He is a bit long in the tooth and has a reputation for an overriding temper. Not a great combination in as we have seen what reactionary and misguided presidency has accomplished looking for WMB and Osama Bin Laden. 0-2 just on those key issues alone.

Finally, to the point of "air in the tires". Maybe a great idea IF airplanes taxied the entire distance they traveled. While under pressure can lead to tire failure you guys really haven't a clue about the way airplanes operate or are maintained.

Apparently they don't even realize that airplanes fly!

Next thing they will be asking for submarines to have their tires properly inflated to!.. or the Space Shuttle!! All for what? a flat jab at Obama

Actually the airlines do regular tire pressure checks. In fact there has been atleast one fatal crash due to underinflated tires.
