My wife worked for a social service agency involved in refugee resettlement here during the time there was an influx of Sudanese folks.

They're quiet, modest, unassuming and hard working people who keep their own counsel-which sometimes leads to problems with the local culture but for the most part, they'e a bunch of tough assed survivors.

Did you all notice there was a huge cheer for the US delegation? The average spectator couldn't not care less about who carried your flag. They just count on the US team to bring a good show in the coming 16 days. And they cheered for it.

The average, uninformed spectator, but what about Chairman Hu and his cronies? I bet they were not exactly happy with a Sudanese refugee carrying the US flag.
