The Hungarian weightlifter Janos Baranyai dislocated his right shoulder during the Olympics trying to lift 148 kilograms.
Just horrible. It seems the bar fell on his shoulder or neck as well.
Hope he recovers quickly.

You know, I knew that was going to weird me out but I still watched anyway. I do love the 'nothing to see here' poster holders that run out to hide the wreckage.

Well, they're used to seeing bones broken in public. I'm sure these peeps are professionals at sheilding spectators from victims of suffering.

Same here. But I watch it anyway. Still I did not think that was as bad as some of the clip's of football(Soccer) player's breaking their leg's here in the english football league's. Some are truly horrific.

Now that is truly disgusting. I hope he recovers fully and swiftly.

That said, anyone else notice how the sportscasters maintained the same cadence? That was hilarious.

As horrific as this might be, it is not as bad as the weight lifter who blew out his bowels as he was huffing and puffing to lift the weights. Urgh...

That has happened lots of times. Go to any hard core gym and you will see that at least once a year.

Ryanair,

Yeah, I saw a picture of that... his rectum prolapsed IIRC. Makes me think-twice when clean-n-jerk large amounts of weight actually  Wow!

JCS17,

I think the craziest video I've ever seen was when R. Budd Dwyer (1939 - 1987) committed suicide on live TV after being convicted of taking bribes (he blew his brains out with a .357 magnum).

I saw that on teevee. That's not nearly the worst. The absolute worst, most revolting video of all time is the one the Boeing engineer made of him being done in the rear by a stallion....it killed him, of course. I would not provide a link but a google search for mrhands might prove productive....watch at your own risk, and if you don't barf you're super human.

The video has been taken down so I couldn't see.

One thing to do with weightlifting at the Olympics, did anyon see the Colombian who just couldn't hold onto the bar? His right thumb kept slipping, this is a guy who has won two world championships and couldn't even lift it up, his thumb just let go.

This happened 7 or 8 times to the guy. his Olympic dreams crushed, it was pretty sad to see him, this massive man that could probably kill most people with his bare hands break down in front of he entire world.
