Lada's new concept car looks really weird. Ans what's up with the rear view mirrors?

Ugly but at the same time really cool.

My first reaction is it looks like a cartoon car. Front bumper looks like a mouth and the headlights like eyes, the black strip a nose perhaps... a turtle?

Maybe the rear-mirrors are small cameras feeding a twin-display on the dashboard?
Otherwise a pretty disturbing design...
Must have been done in a Siberian prison camp by some busted designers who want revenge..

Well, when looking at any new Lada design, I've never experienced anything else than shock and that feeling of pity for a company that seems like it's trying hard to never ever design a car that looks any good.

This went about the same.  worried

I completely agree with what you said. Apart from everything after you said "ugly"...

I didn't realise Lada were still making cars. I thought they went out of business at the same time the USSR did.

First thought I had when I saw the pic was... "Renault"... this looks like a concept car only Renault could come up with!

Or perhaps they've just worked out that nobody in Russia uses them anyway  silly

The rear view cameras are interesting, but why put them there. Seems the end of the front bumper would have cleaner lines and no blind spots.

I like Ladas to be boxy & plain.

Somewhat resembles the old school Lada Niva, which looked better..

As ugly as it looks it's way cooler than the dorky Honda Insight. Unthinkable that Honda would think such a stupid looking vehicle (glad it bombed) should replace the reliable, cool-looking, quick, and... fuel effiecient!!!!!! Honda CRX.

This thing looks like a fat guy sat on it and threw up. This is pathetic! And cameras for side-view mirrors?! What's wrong with using, well, actual mirrors?!

Cleaner lines, maybe less weight, better sight.

Problem is that even with outragous exteriors, their mechanics are only up to 1980's international levels.

Looks like a cross between a golf cart and a bowling shoe. I'll bet it still reeks of gas inside like every Lada I've ever been in.

I'm having doubts about this so called 'concept car'...

What is it doing rotting outside in a half cared-for office building inner court?
If that thing was a sign of things to come at Lada, it would be carefully exposed somewhere inside the design buiding or would have been seen in some sort of car show.

I can't understand what's written in the attached forum, but it seems to me like this might just be a styling exercise (maybe not even from Lada, but from a bunch of students or something) that's probably not that new.

Interesting. It looks like a squared off Fiat Bravo with over inflated wheel arches.

Wy is it Russian designers absolutely persist in refusing to use wheel rims bigger than 14 inches?

Actually looks like a 5 year old's shoe lol it truly is ugly

Has anyone noticed the front wheel is bigger, wth?

It looks like the Russians gave up exporting automobiles since the early 90s so they still keep the rim size from that era
