This message is brought to you on my new Acer mini pc....While it is not the most powerful for internet and basic word processing this thing is great....plus i got a smoking deal on it from a guy at work....

This thing is lynix based and for these applications it is faster than Vista

Anyone else have one?

Sometimes all you can do is look them in the eye and ask " how much did your mom drink when she was pregnant with you?"

No.. but I Will Comment On My love Of Linux. LOL. I took an old laptop natively running Windows XP, it always froze. Total Piece Of Shit. I Put Ubuntu Linux On It. I never knew how fast the POS could be.  Smile

What Distro does it use???

Whoever said you can do anything you set your mind to has obviously never tried to slam a revolving door!!!

A lot of these netbooks as they're being called use linux. The HP mini-note has a vista or linux option.

I'm considering an Advent version, more expensive but runs on XP, and has a higher spec. £280/$560.

I've had a play around with the Acer at work, not sure I like the operating system though.

I'm now posting this from the aspire one I just purchased yesterday.
This is what I have been waited for these years.
If I rate this PC in 100 points max, that would be 150; it's beyond my expectation.
Such feature as 120G HDD , 1G memory and 1.5G CPU(actually works as is) is wholly satisfactory, as well as the price being about 500$, power consumption looking as little as 10W.
