Indiana Senator Evan Bayh would appear to be the VP nominee for Obama. Bumper sticker leaked out early.

Bayh's record, in brief summary:

Typical liberal. Boring but safe pick. Looks like youth is served.

If this is true, he is a great pick.
However, I wish Evan Bayh was the Democratic nominee instead of Obama.
Evan Bayh would easily be 25+ points ahead of McCain if he had been the nominee.

I said years ago Bayh would be president. Classic left winger, slick package, good communicator, middle America thing, all that crap. But the Dems kept nominating losers from Mass.

At least the ticket will be united in its stance.

EMPORIA, Va - Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine have been told by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign they will not be his vice presidential choice, NBC News reported on Friday, quoting sources.

Speculation about Obama's choice has centered on Bayh, Kaine and Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden. Other names in the mix include Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and Texas Rep. Chet Edwards.

Yeah, as Whappeh said, MSNBC is reporting differently.

I'm not buying this yet. That sticker design does not look up to par for a final product.

even fox news was saying that bumper sticker was a fake. It looked wrong, doesnt have any of the campaign markings, fonts don't look right, etc.

It's increasingly looking like Joe Biden is the guy. Tim Kaine confirmed to be out, and all signs point to Bayh being out. Could be a coincidence, but a NetJets flight flew from Chicago to New Castle, DL (near Joe Biden's home) this evening, arriving a couple of hours ago.

Not sure what Biden can bring to the ticket.
Delaware's 3 electoral votes was going to go to Obama anyway. It's a solid blue state.
The plagiarism debacle that dogged Joe Biden back in 1984 will probably dog him again.

Yeah, I do wish that the VP had come from a more influential state. Obama cannot let McCain sweep the south, but the only two states he has a legit shot in are Florida and Virginia. He's got to win at least one of those two, and having Kaine on the ticket would have helped a lot in VA.

But I do like Biden, so we shall see.

I love how the Democrats constantly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Obama ran a great primary campaign but has been bumbling and stumbling ever since the primaries ended. This is probably the weakest VP candidate he could have picked (a la Gore/Liberman in 2000) and may have just cost him the election.

How is America "saved" with the damage that Bush has done to the economy. I don't care about the war, I am not as fed up about the USA PATRIOT act as others are. But Bush and his economic policies have crippled the country. Not to mention he's been an international embarrassment.

Nope..and thats just the thing..imagining. Hell, you probably wish bad things upon the country when a Democrat is in office.

You're nothing but a loud mouth drama queen. How can you have the faith and respect that this country deserves if you think a single President would be able to inflict as much damage as you dramatize. That's the mind blowing thing. I bet you consider yourself all patriotic and the whole nine yards. One thing is clear though: you don't believe in America.

Gee, that's funny. I remember the economy beginning to slow AFTER the Democrats took control of Congress in November of 2006. I remember the economy starting to slow in 2000 just before Bush took office, it beginning to rebound, then this thing called 9/11 coming along, and the ecomony hanging in about as well as it could have during that time and really beginning to recover and grow up till that fateful day in November 2006.

But that's a little point Democrats refuse to mention or acknowledge when they talk about the economy. Hey I know some people will complain in response, but I'm just calling it like I see it.

Don't you find it completely ridiculous and irresponsible to think like L-188 that Gore or Kerry would have destroyed (or whatever the opposite of 'saved' he is thinking of) the country? That's an impossible question for me to answer....but I do think Bush has been a pretty bad President. Point being: we're still here, we're still kicking, America is much stronger than individual Presidencies.

Bush 'saving' America? Thats pure  redflag  .
