Any bold predictions out there? My heart wants to say the University of South Carolina, but my brain is telling its gonna be the other USC, Univeristy of Southern California. Although don't count out LSU or Ohio State.

As long as it isn't USC, the Gators or Notre Dame, I don't care who wins it. I just want to see quality college football.

The team that should have been in the title game this past season, the University of Georgia. While I would love to see them go 13-0 going into the BCS Championship Game, I think a 12-1 or 11-2 record is the most likely scenario, as they do have a pretty tough SEC schedule. Besides the usual South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn and Kentucky (UK could be having a bad year and still trip up UGA; same goes with Vandy.), they also have to face Alabama and LSU. I would not be surprised if they end up playing LSU twice this season. I'm going to guess that they'll lose the first game against them, but redeem themselves with a win over them in SEC Championship Game. If Georgia does lose two games in the regular season, the other lose will probably be Tennessee or Florida (Although I think the Gators will come back to earth as Tim Tebow will definitely not be the QB he was last season.), but that game on September 20th at Arizona State does scare me.

Of course some of this season does ride whether Knowshon Moreno picks up where he left off last season. He left the game today against Georgia Southern with a "cramp" after scoring his third TD of the game. If he can't go, Caleb King could definitely step in and play (He was the Dawgs' leading rusher in today's game, 12 carries, 95 yards.). Matthew Stafford is the other crucial piece in the machine as well, but it looks like Joe Cox could come in and run the offense fairly well (He played the fourth quarter to get some reps as the Dawgs were up 38-7 going into the fourth quarter.) and will more than likely see some more playing time next week against Central Michigan.

For the BCS Championship, it will be #1 Oklahoma vs. #2 UGA with UGA winning the game 35-27.

Pretty good synopsis, but I gotta say as a loyal Gamecock fan, we may put a hitch in UGA's giddyup. The Ol' Ball Coach will have a few tricks up his sleeve for that game. To be honest I would like to see Georgia go, if South Carolina trips up. As long as I don't hear Rocky Top at the national championship game, I will be happy.

Fresno State...

...okay back to reality. I really think that this year just might be a USC year (Trojan). I have to stay on the west coast for this because my Fresno State Bulldogs will not get too far. But if for a freak miricle (which does happen because we won the Basbeall College World Series) we beat Rutgers on Monday and then against Wisconsin, Toledo, and UCLA in our first 4 games, we just might be in a good position to get a really nice BCS Bowl game.

I'd love to see both Fresno St. and either Utah or BYU run the table this season. It could get even better if the loser of the BYU/Utah showdown has that as their only loss at the end of the season. You could justify 3 BCS spots going to non-BCS schools, which would pretty much create chaos.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems with just potatoes.

I hate to say it, but that game actually got pretty boring. 52-7....reminds me of, what, 2005? Whichever year was the year of Reggie Bush/Lendale White/Matt Leinart.

I stay away from making predictions about postseason (BCS, whatever) games. Been a Red Sox fan for too long to do that.

But go Trojans!

And I can't say I would be terribly disappointed if Notre Dame had another awful season  Smile

Believe me after what we did to Auburn and Arkansas in recent years, the Trojans are going to have trouble getting anyone from the SEC to play them when they can schedule monster non-conference games like Louisana-Monroe, Georgia Southern, Western Illinois instead of the Trojans...:D

Doin' just fine thanks...

UGA has been playing some teams from some of the bigger conferences in recent years (This doesn't include our annual game against Georgia Tech):

2006: Colorado
2007: Oklahoma State
2008: Arizona State
2009: Oklahoma State & Arizona State
2010: Colorado (The schedule for 2010 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2011: Louisville (The schedule for 2011 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2012: Louisville (The schedule for 2012 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2013: Clemson (The schedule for 2013 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2014: Clemson (The schedule for 2014 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2015: Oregon (The schedule for 2015 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)
2016: Oregon (The schedule for 2016 is tentative but this game is confirmed.)

We have an off week before Tennessee. I think we'll redeem ourselves this year. (Blackout anyone?)

It was just a cramp. He went back to the sideline, got it stretched out, and then was walking around fine. That was actually Matthew Stafford's last drive as well. I think it just happened to coincide with the rest of the starters being pulled out.

I was quite impressed with Caleb King and Richard Samuel both yesterday. And how about AJ Green? If Georgia can get the o-line good, that's one loaded offense.

Well, its absolutely going to be Kansas State! After we beat North Texas by 39 yesterday, we are going all the way!!!!

ACTUALLY, not really. OU looked really good yesterday, and so did Mizzou. I'd say either one of those teams....

Although I think the Gators will come back to earth as Tim Tebow will definitely not be the QB he was last season.

Oh what a load of crap.

You got Tebow when he was injured, not playing 100%, and no one else on the Gators was willing to step up and move the ball. Never mind our notoriously porous defense last season.

You play a more mature, experienced Gator squad this year. Tebow does not need to put up monstrous numbers to be an exceptional QB and more importantly, win games. He manages the game very well, and our surplus of offensive talent and playmakers this season makes this a different, more dangerous team. The ball will get spread around heavily, taking pressure off Tebow to run it, but other teams must remain guarded because you never know when he'll take off and flatten everyone in his path. If anything, the more dynamic offense makes Tebow even more dangerous, as a running game not focus on #15 opens up the chance to show off his insane accuracy and A+ receiving corps.

Richt is going to need more than unsportsmanlike conduct and grandstanding to get you out of Jacksonville intact this year.

I'm not focusing solely on last year's GA-FL game. He pretty much carried that team on his back the entire season. He definitely did not look like the guy who is coming off a Heisman Trophy season in that game against Hawaii (Talk about a team who has come crashing back to Earth.). 9 of 14 for 137 yard and a TD is respectable, but it was Florida's defense and special teams that really put him on the bench and let his backups do mop up duty and didn't give him as much of a chance to show that last season was not a fluke. He probably could have added a rushing TD or two if he would have had the chance. Let's see what he does this week vs. Miami, as perhaps that will tell the tale. As shown in the game against Hawaii, Florida does have other weapons besides Tebow, but can they be counted on the entire season. I definitely doubt he will put up those gaudy TD numbers of last season, as he does have other targets and he also has an even bigger target on his back being one of those few Heisman winners who actually have a chance to make it a double. Even at UGA Moreno and Stafford have some pretty big targets on their backs because of last season.
