A friend and I were sitting around drinking beer watching a game when a car commercial came on. It got us to debating what some of the best car commercials were. Here are a couple of the best ones that we came up with. What is your favorite?

Honda:

Nissan:

And just for an excuse to throw in some hot chicks - best beer commercial ever:

The Honda cog commercial probably gets my vote.

It's particularly amazing because it's a single take of real physical happenings (although I think I read that 600+ takes were necessary before it worked successfully).

As far as print advertisements go, I liked an ad BMW ran for the E36 M3 (late 1990s version).
"The best handling car in America - And 7 others that look like they should be".
Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 768 File size: 85kb

This ad followed a car magazine test (Car and Driver I think) to determine the best handling car in America without a price ceiling. Something about the ad looks a bit dated now but that may be appropriate given the short life span of advertisements.

That commercial I posted is quite old. Back when the first CTS came out I believe. I dont mind the Escalade commercial:

Id get me an Escalade if I could afford one in a heartbeat or a slightly modified GMC Yukon Denali XL.

There is something about 1978, America was cleaner, Blondes where dumber and Fords where free-wheeling.

Chevy got a lot of milage out of Bob Seager in the 1990's.

Nice commercial, but its a copy. Sorry. There was a (British?) TV-spot in the late 80s/early 90s that was very similar.

Finally had a chance to post some videos
Here are a few of my favorites:

2005 Ford Mustang Convertible (this one aired during Super Bowl XXXIX, note: the cop car used is a 1992 Crown Vic.)

1998 Mercury Grand Marquis (advertisers decided to have a little fun with this ad)

Although I'm not a fan of Nissans, this 1997 ad. was hilarlious (note: voice of Dirty Bird is none other than John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin of Cheers)

1984 Ford Crown Victoria

Some older ads:

Blast from the past: 1969 Mercury Marquis

WC Fields with the 1970 Mercury Monterey

1972 Ford LTD

The famous comparison between the 1965 Ford and the Rolls Royce for quietness.

In YouTube's website, just below the web-link dialogue box, there's an embedded link line. Just Copy that (make sure you get the entire line) and paste it in your post.
