Its Monday!....and The Last three races are probably going to be awesome.

Hamilton is up by 7 and McLaren up by 1.

We'll continue the conversation of a great (and slightly controversial) season here!

I hope it will rain this Sunday in Japan. That would make the race exiting (just remember Silverstone, Spa and Monza this year).

and favour McLaren even more, as the track is a more "McLaren track" me thinks.

However looking forward for a great race. And hopefully Massa will win and score some more points than Hamilton to keep this season exciting

If what we want is the title to be defined in the last race, I hope it does not rain, because unless something out of the ordinary happens, under the rain lewis should do better than Massa

Exactly what I mean.

I really hope that Ferrari can take a one two so Massa can reduce the rather "big" gap between him and Hamilton.

But I highly doubt that MadameConcorde wants that. Soon she will post about how much she prays for rain  Wink

Given his recent lack of form, expecting Raikkonen to finish second would seem to be overly optimistic to me.

I have a technical question.

I will be in Buenos Aires on Sunday, leaving Buenos Aires airport about 10.00 PM (night time).

I wonder if I will be able to catch the race on TV before I leave the city. I have no idea with the time difference between Argentina and Japan. Something totally unfamiliar...

Massa needs a good strong finish here. Another non-points finish will all but seal up the title for Hamilton.

Madame, you should be fine.
The race is on at 1:30 PM Sunday in Japan and that is 1:30AM in Buenos Aires so you have plenty of time.

Cheers

One recommended exercise for the vagaries of time MC is to fly from Syd or Mel to Lax and get there just before you left. Then coming back, you get the mysterious disappearing day problem. If you have a digital watch, both these exercises can nearly drive you mad making sure you don't wreck the month and year count (if you do, years later you either lose a leap year, or get one you did not have).

It is sad but it's clear to see that the F1 management team is rinning this sport as a business. I know here in the US the "official" number of F1 fans was in the low to mid 100's, not even worth the effort for advertisers and organisers (in comparison, NASCAR can claim upwards of 50M fans). I wasn't aware of any substantial decline in public attendance at Montreal but perhaps it was the one race thought to be disposable to make way for new frontiers in the ME.

In other news I was soooooooooo happy to hear that BMW decided to keep Heidfeld (and Kubica) on board for next year. I've been a fan of Quick Nick since 1999 and even though he'll never be a front runner he's a likeable chap who always ends up bringing in quite a few points for the team.

From a safety perspective I thought that a lights system is better as you don't place a mechanic directly in the path of the car; my understanding was that if a mistake were to take place, it's still man operated so the lollipop man would be the one making the mistake anyhow. Guess they decided to err on caution (or perhaps the FIA told them to quit it?).

I do want to see a fight for the titles but at the same time a bit of rain wouldn't go amiss. The one aspect that I have always enjoyed about F1 is the fact that they don't stop for rain, unlike some "racing" series which immediately park their cars at the first hint of clouds.

I stumbled across this new race calendar a moment ago and I join the band of people moaning that Montreal has been skipped from the calendar.

Any chance to see it added later ?
OTOH, there are no gaps.

One other noteable thing is, that the British GP is till being held at Silverstone but move to an earlier date in June.
And the new Abu Dhabi.

BTW. Should the 2009-season be discussed in a seperate thread ?

I'm sorry, but what I don't want to see is yet another tactical extravaganza, where there's absolutely no exitement at all. This is why I feel that rain will bring that X-Factor back, which F1 has lost many years ago.

I don't know if I can be very happy with that. Granted, the track was crap this year, it had to be patched up constantly, but I guess one race had to go, so Abu Dhabi could be included. For the record: I'm against Montréal being removed from the F1 calendar and I fear the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will probably be forgotten by Bernie and Max very soon, just like former F1 tracks such as Estoril, Mexico City, Kyalami and Zandvoort.

No, because it's not time for a separate thread for it.
