What's This City?

Here's how it works. I will post a picture of a city and you have to tell me the name of it. The person who gets it right first, gets to choose the next city.

Here is the first city:

Clue: In the Southern Hemisphere

Cheers

The clue made it too easy to find. The stadium and river can be seen here. Sorry I do not have a city photo of my own.

(Edited to fix incorrect link)

The best time to plant a tree is 40 years ago. The second best time is today.

Interestingly, I also found a Qantas A330 captured in flight, about 2km North of the stadium.

That would been coming in for landing at ADL runway 23. Never seen that before. Interesting find indeed.

Do you have a picture of a city, we can guess?

That's a 737-800 isn't it? Good spotting!

I think you are right! It is indeed probably a 738 w/ winglets.
This one has three canoe fairings on each trailing edge wing - an A330 has four.

Wrong. The answer has already been given, no offence. The answer is Adelaide, South Australia.

Let me guide you to:

http://tinypic.com/

You can use you own profile here to upload photos but you have a really small limit. Just upload the photo to tinypic and it provides you with a link (use the one in the [img][/img] tags).

You can also use photobucket. Great site for hosting pictures, I've got a few on there.

Hobart doesn't have that many tall buildings. I don't know if its in Australia or not. I don't believe it is Australia or New Zealand, but I could be wrong - he could've edited the picture?

I'm guessing the city has changed a bit since the day Gandhi landed there.

Correct!, it is indeed Pagoda Street in Singapore.

Regarding the other one with the boats in the foreground - I very quickly guessed the country - because of an obvious hint. I have not been to that country. I looked for photos of the first coastal city that came to my mind from that country - and the photos did not match so I had to look at a map to find another coastal city where photos on the web matched the photo that was posted.

25 Post contains images BlueElephant : Murano, Venice Italy? Can I play too?!
26 PHLstudent : close, one of the other "urano's"
27 BlueElephant : Then its Burano...they're both Alike...
28 PPVRA : Good one! Only figured out after the Ghandi tip. Shanghai?
29 KiwiinOz : Shanghai? Can you give me a hint where to look for the hint??
30 WestWing : Certainly. Where (which country) would you expect to find a Springbok747 ?
31 KiwiinOz : So I guess it's Capetown then?
32 PPVRA : Durban
33 Springbok747 : Shanghai, China? Bingo! It's Durban, South Africa.
34 WestWing : Capetown was the first city I thought of, but since photos of Capetown did not match, I looked at a map, and noted that Durban was also coastal. Photo
35 BlueElephant : I think PPVRA got it first... Good Job!
