Not sure how she got my phone number. She is calling registered voters here in San Francisco to support Cindy Sheehan for Congress who is running against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Here in San Francisco, many see Nancy Pelosi as too conservative and out of touch.
I'll still vote for Pelosi as I am not a fan of Cindy Sheehan.

Too conservative?? Pelosi? Damn!!!!! Politically SF sounds like it's on a different planet...Don't mind the breath taking views and cool roads. Of course the cars are something too!
And why on earth would they want Rosanne Barr calling anyone? Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Anyone remember her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner?
Mind if I ask why you like Pelosi over Sheehan? I can't vote for either, just curious as to how you arrive at the conclusion that Pelosi is a better choice.

Might be a slight improvement.Pelosi is a rich Democrat along with husband Paul, who is ill-mannered,full of bull, calculating politician.Sheehan ,dispite her politics,is more a honest broker.

That's cool.
I like Pelosi, she is cool.
Cindy Sheehan thinks we should get out of Iraq at all costs. Originally of course she was right, all Americans agree the invasion was wrong (except maybe 10% of the rightmost fringe).
But today, maybe we owe the Iraqis something? Pelosi is not trying to conquer the Middle East, so give her that. Her decision to put impeachment "off the table" was maybe a little bizarre considering the viewpoint of SF politics. But it certainly made things more dignified.
I don't see how impeaching Bush does much, just because Clinton was impeached for his extracurricular sex life (a feat of homoeroticism that seemingly surpassed SF itself, by the GOP).

Hi,
Honestly I know it sounds irresponsible etc. but if Roseanne Barr phoned me and asked me to vote I'd give her a vote just for the show. Was watching reruns the other day and even on German TV where I don't understand more than a few words that show was cool.
Politicians come and go but good TV shows last forever(!)

Was it actually her or one of those stupid recordings?
That's what I thought when I saw the thread title. The funniest thing about when they were running those canned ads, was that by the end of the run, the show at the Sahara she was also hyping in the commercials (As tickets to her show were included in the "deal") had already closed.
I like to know what political strategist came up with having robocalls using Roseanne Barr? If I were putting together such as thing, I'd get someone who could do multiple impressions.

Quoting DocLightning (Reply 9): The problem with Pelosi is that she is the Speaker of the House. And that's the sort of friend in high places who you'd really like to keep.
Look at when Speaker Tom Foley lost his bid for re-election, the Spokane district went overnight from a having the most powerful man in the House, to well someone that was at the bottom of the food chain.

While I have sympathy for Sheehan, I don't feel that that comes close to qualifying here for the role. As for Roseanne, well suffice it to say she's a waste of space... a loud waste of space.

Yes I was afraid of that.

She was selling timeshares for a while, then a call center?
Now politicking for Cindy Sheehan? She must have hit rock bottom.
Quoting Luv2fly (Reply 6): Well Sarah Palin keeps emailing me to get out and vote for her and Gezzer!
Is it really from her or those hackers that got access to her email?
Quoting DocLightning (Reply 9): And that's the sort of friend in high places who you'd really like to keep.
That is why I will vote for her again in this election cycle.
Quoting RFields5421 (Reply 11): Pelosi was correct in determining the only thing which would be accomplished would be wasting several millions of dollars for a no decision.
That goes to show that she is fiscally responsible with our tax dollars. She wont let her emotions drive her to make fiscally irresponsible decisions just to prove a point.
Even though we all know that bastard (Dubya) should be dragged out of the White House in handcuffs and thrown in the slammer.

What does it matter you ignore them anyway. Just remember one thing, you vote and have say in who is in office. Then again what can explain your mayor?

Big money and corporate interest that bankrolled his candidacy back in 2003. Also, many didn't want to hand the Green Party a victory after the Nader candidacy in 2000. Remember, Matt Gonzalez (Green Party) won 47% of the vote holding Gavin Newsom to only 53% of the vote. As much as I hate the Green Party, I still voted for Gonzalez because Newsom is too conservative to be our mayor. He'd be OK for a statewide office however.
Newsom didn't turn out to be as scary as many had thought. Thankfully we have Board of Supervisors that keeps him in check.
