Shows what sells today as 'music'... it's crap.

I assume you're referring to "Hey Ya" by Outkast...

Don't want to meet yo mama/Just wanna make you comma...

As for "Paper Planes," it's a pretty decent song. Not my all time favorite, but not terrible. Good party song.

"Paper Planes"

[x2]
I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name
If you come around here, I make 'em all day
I get one down in a second if you wait

[x2]
Sometimes I think sitting on trains
Every stop I get to I'm clocking that game
Everyone's a winner now we're making that fame
Bonafide hustler making my name

[x4]
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money

[x2]
Pirate skulls and bones
Sticks and stones and weed and bongs
Running when we hit 'em
Lethal poison through their system

[x2]
No one on the corner has swagger like us
Hit me on my Burner prepaid wireless
We pack and deliver like UPS trucks
Already going hell just pumping that gas

[x4]
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money

M.I.A.
Third world democracy
Yeah, I got more records than the K.G.B.
So, uh, no funny business

Some some some I some I murder
Some I some I let go
Some some some I some I murder
Some I some I let go

I share that opinion.

On a slightly related note, I find it ridiculous that the radio station here in DAB will play "Paper Planes" unedited, but blatantly censors the word "damn" out of Flo Rida's "In The Ayer". Not that that song (and I use that term very loosely) is worth listening to either, but I'm just puzzled at why lyrics talking about murdering people are ok, but lyrics containing the word "damn" aren't.

I love it when radio stations, afraid of the FCC, have replaced the gun shots with hand claps, or drums banging.  sarcastic

Because in America, we believe that sexual themes and bad language are not for children or even adults to be exposed to, but all kinds of violent images in the media are perfectly acceptable.

And in case you couldn't tell... that was sarcasm.

South Park said it best:

(probably partially paraphrased)

"Remember, horrible deplorable violence is OK, just as long as no one says any naughty words."

Normally I would agree, but this song isn't blatantly violent. It is about the struggle of new immigrants to shrug away the preconcieved notions about themselves. It is a much smarter song than most people initially think.

Her other songs though, I can't vouch for...

I seem to recall me and LHRjc being rather drunk on a Virgin train from London Euston to Preston a few weeks back and we both were listening to this song and were pretend shooting each other.... The other First Class passengers didn't really appreciate it, I guess they thought we were going to take their moneyyyyyy.
