Prospect.1 New Orleans is expected to draw 100,000 visitors over its 3-month run. This is a nice shot in the arm for the city. It's the largest international art show in New Orleans in a century. 81 artists will be displaying works at 15 locations throughout the city.

The show is a biennial so it will be held every other year in the same city, similar to shows in 25 other cities, including Sydney, Venice, Shanghai, and Sao Paulo.

Sounds cool, though they could've done a better job of getting the word out earlier... I'd heard nothing about this.

I've seen it mentioned in some tourist publications and on the radio a few times. Hopefully it will be a success. New Orleans is really a great venue for something like this.

I guess we'll see if the CVB did its job well once it ends.

I say it's high time we stage a coup over that place...

let's go down to the Calliope and get some hoodrats a 40 per piece to help us.

Don't think we need them. I have some friends who can help us out.  Wink

Seriously...the city need to do whatever the hell it can to promote events like this. Supposedly the news of it has made its way into the art scene around the country so hopefully it'll turn out well. NOLA is already known as one of the best arts destinations in America....I think this has the potential to broaden its reach.
