Hey all, I was trying to get onto Airliners since this morning and it says that I cannot get on the website. Now my question is, has anyone else had this problem?? Or is it just me Confused

I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

You're not alone. And when I did get on, a lot of the starter messages didn't come up, just the replies. Seems to have settled down now, though.

Yes, we were down for a few hours due to a tmp file dir that filled up to the brim caused by a faulty cron script.

We're up now and should have no further problems.

Thanks,
Johan

Jderden777, you were probably looking at a cached image of the site that was already on your computer from the last time you visited. Were you able to post on the boards and see NEW replies? Maybe you just got lucky and missed the time while a.net was down. But since Johan confirmed the server was down it isn't possible you were seeing anything new at the same time nobody else could. Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I couldn't log on (period) at all ALL day Tuesday (from 2 PM to Midnight, U.S. EST).

I was wondering where Airliners.net was?? Withdrawl was beginning to set in!

I thought (for just an instant) that Johan packed up the tents and took all 219,000 pictures and fled into the cool night!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

i in fact posted a new message that appeared on the aviation photography forum during the time that the site was still down for everyone else..and i also looked at some of the brand new pictures (like 54 or so) that were added during that time....i don't know what's up with that...

More in detail, the site was down for everyone with "normal" web browsers that support html compression. For some types and versions of web browsers, html compression is tured off and it would have been possible to surf Airliners.net when it was down.

Johan
