This is a nice display of Christmas lights.
Must make a high electric bill.

Oh yeah indeed... Reminds me of Tim Taylor (Home Improvement) and his competition with one of his neighbours Big grin

Not to mention the amount of money just to upgrade your electrical system for your house so it can handle it. I am trying something similar, but not as elaborate, and I fried my circuit breaker. Have an electrician coming tonight.

When your electrician gets it sorted please post some pictures, maybe that will be the next picture thread, post your Christmas lights.

As for the lights in the video, simply fantastic  bigthumbsup

That looks really majestic. It isn't tacky or cheap looking at all--something that I think becomes very common with more complicated light decorations at homes.

I'd get him a Home Depot gift card for Christmas.

I will say they have done quite a job on this one. Must be team work. I've never seen any like this for real, at least not yet, not for a private house.

I wonder if its the same people that used to live in this house, or they just have access to the same fancy dandy disco lighting equipment:

I saw one here in Houston about 2 years ago. The guy used to post instructions on the internet with some behind the scenes pictures of how he did it. He has since pulled all that down from his page and started a company that consults on how to do it. He has also started doing some commercial displays around town.

You'd have to use LED's to get effects like that. So the bill might not be as high as you think.

Now, perhaps his wife might want to consider offering him "alternative" ways of spending his time?

I hope this house is not near an airport or airplanes will start approaching this house as they might think it is the runway Big grin

The house in the photos below is near my parents' house near Philly. The guy who does the set up is a professional AV geek.

The rotating beacon on the roof of the house is actually Rudolph and Santa going around at a good 10 or 12 RPM, hence the blur in this 30s exposure.

To put the lights up in the tree (he said the highest one was 125 feet up, but I'd guess more like 75) he called in a favor with the local volunteer fire department. Apparently he gave them a good price on a DJ for an event at the fire hall, so when he needed to put the lights up, they came out and did a training session with the new ladder truck.

There are some pretty sweet houses out here in Arizona. But it's nothing like New Jersey. I remember growing up and EVERYONE decorated their houses. You could drive down the street and the neighbors would coordinate their decorations, it was incredible!
