Last time it snowed in NOLA was over Christmas 2004. Supposedly it is coming down pretty good from what I hear. My brother is emailing me some pics later today so I will upload them. Snow along the Gulf South is a rare thing indeed. Our friends in Houston got hit with the white stuff yesterday.
Of course, it won't be around for long. Tomorrow it'll be in the 50's, then quickly jump back into the mid 60's. Nice treat for the kids, anyway, but man, I'm glad I'm not working at MSY today.

What the hell. It snows in Texas and Louisiana but all I get here in Massachusetts is freezing rain...

Yep, and in Bethlehem, PA, it's 55 degrees and raining right now.

Here's a pic from a friend in Hammond, LA, about a 45 minute drive from MSY. That's what he woke up to this morning.

Concordeboy sent me a picture text of his front porch this morning and I had to ask him if he was visiting someone in Minnesota. I remember in basic training this guy from Lake Arthur looking at Missouri snow asking me "Is this snow?"
Have fun and remember that trash can lids and cookie sheets make adequate makeshift toboggans.

Imagine that! Those Christmas decorations really do look better in snow, huh?

I hear ya! It is raining right now where I live in the mountains of Virginia. I would love to see a good storm system pile up about 8 inches here. But I cannot complain too much because we are above average for snow for the year.
