That's interesting. Do you touch type, or are you a "hunt and peck" typist?

Quoting Triebwerk (Thread starter): I realized today that I tend to hit the backspace key with my ring finger. This is odd, considering my pinky is actually closer to the key.
This is funny as I am doing this as well. My ringfinger seems to find its way to the backspace key

Well, in a way, it makes sense. The ring finger is significantly longer than the pinky, meaning I can simply pivot my hand to type on the backspace key. If I were to hit it with my pinky finger, I would have to shift my hand up to reach it.

Ring finger. Also, when deleting multiple words, I often use "shift-ctrl-left arrow" to highlight entire words before hitting backspace and deleting one word per keystroke. I love that feature.

Right ring finger. Makes sense because it points in the right direction but is longer than the pinky.

My middle finger, I don't do the like "official" touch type with my fingers on asdf and jkl; rather I type in my own method but do know the keyboard layout

I think the error was intended.
Next question, then: do you hit the space bar with your right thumb or your left thumb? Or do you use another finger altogether?
I'm a right-thumber, left-shifter.

After further analysis, the right thumb gets the most use, but I use both thumbs depending on the previous word typed.
