I spent the last days of 2008 shooting at OSL with Jorgen Syversen, and it was -12C (10.4F) with freezing fog. I must say it wasn't that bad actually. Just dress warm (5 layers on the body, 2 on the legs including thermal underwear), keep walking to keep the blood flowing through the feet (which should be in warm boots) and make fists in your gloves (not with the fingers in the 'glove fingers') and you're good to go. I had 6 layers on the body, a pair of gloves, a scarf, hat, a pair of jeans, two pairs of socks and a normal pair of shoes. Should probably have worn my walking boots!
Probably not a bad idea, and also rethink your pants... if your legs get cold there is no way in hell your feet will stay warm. I was wearing thermal underwear (full leg size) + a Fjäll Raven windtight trouser. Can't beat that!
