I already thought this topic is not good... but it's "only" soccer...
I think Germany wins 3:2. But as 14 Players of Germany are injured/ill/etc. we can't play with our best formation... so I think the USA have very good chances. And the last two games were also won by the USA, or? In Jacksonville and at the Confederations-Cup in Mexico: 3:2 and 3:1 for the USA. And after that games the German soccer had a crisis...

It's not going to be easy tonight because of the many injuries they have but at least we've got Ballack  Big thumbs up

So my bet is 2:1 for Germany.

Oliver Kahn won't play, and Lehmann isn't allowed to, so i think Germany could have a little goalie-problem. But i think Rost or Butt (who will play?) will try to show their skills, too.

But one thing is for sure, the USA will be a stronger opponent then Israel last time  Big grin

Rost and Butt will play. Each player gets one half-time, that's like a challenge for the 3rd goalkeeper...
But both keepers are very good. Butt will perhaps make a goal with a penalty *g*
He shoots every penalty for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

No goalie problem at all. We've got so many good goalies.
Butt should absolutely be number 3 for the World Cup.
He's a very good man. Not worse than Lehmann imho.

Ha! You've been hooked RogueTrader! It happens to everyone eventually... Big grin

If you've got satellite TV, try one of the German channels, they'll have it on.

If I have to find a German channel, that means I'll have to go to a bar where German people hang out. As I won't be able to convince any normal people to go with me, this will likely be a dangerous proposition. I'm kind of concerned about getting involved in a US-German war -- with me as the only one on my side. But, I guess I'll have to resort to alcohol to fuel my aggression and defense. I plan on getting quite violent and possibly causing an international incident - in Dallas. I hope the local Germans are taking this seriously.

What time GMT does the game come on?

kind regards,

RogueTrader

The match starts at 20:45 Local Time (Rostock, Germany). At the moment we have Middle-European-Winter-Time (UTC +0100)
It comes at 1945 UTC
For the USA, it starts at
14:45 Eastern Time
13:45 Central Time
12:45 Mountain Time
11:45 Pacific Time
10:45 Yukon Time
I hope that this is correct and I could help you.

Actually, RogueTrader, I'm pretty sure the Germans will be delighted to see you there. I've been in many a bar watching Germany - England games and it's been great - regardless of what KROC might tell you!

Enjoy the game.

This is a pretty sad state of affairs, but it appears that the only way to watch the game in the US is on a tape delay. Its not on live on any of the US broadcast, satellite, or pay per view networks.

It comes on at 9:00pm, 21:00 Central Standard Time, 0300 UTC (Thursday), on ESPN2. This may be better anyway since this is during more socially acceptable intoxication hours.

Don't post the results on here until Thursday, please.

I'll be at Stan's, 2908 Greenville Ave, Dallas, for the game if anyone wants to come and heckle me there. You can recognize me as the dork whose shirt says on the back "AA: when you're something special, people know it..." I hope I can find someone to gamble on the game with.

Oh what a game so far ...
Why in the world is Bierhoff still playing in the national team ? I mean if he played for the Faroer Islands or in the Oberliga but not in the German national team.

And how many chances does Neuville actually need to score ? Hope Rudi has an alternative.

OK, now it is past 0300h UTC, so my comment:
Unfortunately for the States,
Germany didn´t proof their unrestricted solidarity and did win!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy From both teams a bad game! Did someone watch the Argentinia-Cameroon game? Whow, I´ve seen the new world champion, Argentinia.

Greetings from the North

Chris

A usual german national game: bad played, but won.

And Bierhoff has scored one goal and assisted one very nice  Big grin I ask myself, why Linke is still in the team ... he causes at least one goal per game, often every goal the opponent scores ... And Ziege..how the hell could someone miss the empty goal from 10metres distance ?

Well, at least the team has fighted..

True!  Big thumbs up But my excuse is that England only played its 'B' team - and made 10 changes for the second half.

Anyway, 5-1, 5-1, 5-1, 5-1, 5-1  Big grin

 Big thumbs up
