I've heard several times that cable-TV costumers in the Netherlands have the largest choice in TV channels in Europe...
so, I was wondering....how big is the cable choice in your country, specificly to the place you live??
here is the choice i have at my place (Hoofddorp, next to Amsterdam and Schiphol apt):
VRT TV 1(Belgium)
Discovery Channel Europe
The Music Factory(TMF)
Home Shopping Europe
Turner Classic Movies(TCM)
TV 5 Europe(French)
this is the network everyone can have for about € 10,- every month without some kind of digital reciever....
there are also 2 digital (and expensive) packages available, one with Canal+, and one with pay-per-view and channels like Sky News, Travel Channel, Zee TV and Bloomberg.....

Well I've just got basic cable from AT&T Broadband, so this is all I get:
Northwest Cable News
CNN Headline News
Not all that much... I watch probably 15 of those channels even on a semi-regular basis (mostly news chans).

I had AT&T Digital when I lived in Seattle and I am NOT about to spend an hour typing out all the channels! I had Discovery Wings and MuchMusic. Nuff said. I just moved 5 blocks from my bro's apartment in Vancouver and we have AT&T basic (N400QX line-up minus CBC and UWTV). But I have a mini-dish. Wings will be back in no time!!!!!

I pay $78 / month for every channel they offer. Its AT&T Digital Cable in Dallas, Texas. USA.
I get those above in N400's list plus about 20 all movie channels, BBC, Discovery-Wings, Dis-Science, Dis-Civilization, some regional sports channels, and a bunch of channels where they offer classes from the local community college.
There are about 10 pay per view channels that have movies for about $5.00. They come on here about 2 months before they're on video/DVD.
My favorites are ESPN for SportsCenter, History Channel, TLC, and all the Discovery Channels.
There is also this built in digital interactive guide that gives you a full schedule and summary of each show & you can set reminders.
I like it, but I only watch about 10 channels regularly. The problem is that you have to get the full package to get the few channels I really like.
