Interesting how in at least to a degree, kept to the American accent he's presumably speaking in the film.
Though wavered back towards to his native one when he really got swearing!
Could have been worse, imagine if the unfortunate DP he was ranting at, had mentioned Bale's wife!
You get a lot of highly strung people in his game.

He definitely gave Lily Tomlin's "I ♥ Huckabees" meltdowns/tantrums some competition.
This also could make people wonder about the incident involving him and his mother and sister where he was arrested and denied the accusations of verbal assault.
If he keeps behaving in this sort of manner, he could find himself on the outside looking in, as studios and production companies may avoid casting him if this sort of behavior is more prevalent than previously thought (For all we know, he may have been this way in the past and the studios and publicists kept those incidents hushed up.).

Quoting RussianJet (Thread starter): Is he a jerk or what? I can understand that someone was annoying him, but blimey, talk about going overboard!
I don't think he's a jerk, next time you have an outburst lets hear the audio tape.
I've done it, I can bet most people here have done it - people flip out on occasion, this time its a famous person caught on tape.

If Bale can bring in the crowds and do the job, they will hire him.

If he keeps behaving like this - big "if."
He is far from alone in having a tantrum - Dustin Hoffman used to be notorious for it - and to some extent, it goes with the territory.
People in leading movie roles walk a knife edge, the pressure is perpetually on, and they have to find a release for it.
The bigger question is why the DP would walk into a shot. That's the really bizarre behavior.

Quoting RussianJet (Reply 7): I struggle to think of any time I've had such a continuous, curse-filled tantrum as that, but particularly not in the workplace.
I've done it, and I've done it in the work place as well - it was certainly deserved at the time, and now the rest of the office laughs about it when its mentioned.
It happens. And as I said, this time it happened to be a famous person and there happened to be a tape rolling.

Not sure if I've seen any of his movies. I'd still hit it.

I think the Daily Mesh summarised it brilliantly
Quote: Meanwhile the recording also revealed that Bale remains a miserable, aggressive prick who is unable to handle the stress of being paid millions of pounds for dressing up and playing pretend.
MOL on SRB's latest attack at BA: "It's like a little Chihuahua barking at a dying Labrador. Nobody cares."

Oh please. No one would miss them if they disappeared tomorrow and some other pretty faced talking head with a GED would be put in their place.

Bale is a very fine actor.
I thought the book American Psycho was unfilmable, but a very decent version was made in 2000, Bale as 'Patrick Bateman' was a major reason why it worked. (The original choice, Leo DiCaprio, would not have worked at all, regardless of his talents).
He apparently lost a lot of weight for one film, (not seen it), The Machinist , enough to raise concerns.
So he takes it all very seriously.
And that might be part of the problem with him.
I've certainly not ranted and swore to the length and repetition of Bale.
It's the repetition that to my mind makes it so extraordinary and unacceptable behavior.

For a lot of them, especially the younger ones, that's the pressure.

Oh well. A lot of famous actors and entertainers have some sort of attitude or behavior problem, and sometimes it just comes with the job. Sometimes, though, they are just a dick.
Kanye West, Russell Crowe and now Christian Bale are just a few famous people that are also famous for getting quite angry!
