I guess it's not really shocking the age, but rather how young the kid looks himself.

Well, best of luck to him and the mother. Of course, the child will be 5 when her dad reaches age of majority.

It just seems so...wrong...so very very wrong.

A jewel from the article:

" The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.
“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.” "

As I saw elsewhere, at least she didn't have 8 kids  cheeky

But on a more serious note, this suggests the very serious problem we have in dealing with sexual responsibility in many countries. We far too often glorify sex without responsibility in our entertainment media or that it can create new human life. Many parents do not take their their responsibility as to the education of their children in sexual responability, far too often peers of the children educate them and in the worst way. Then in some places, we only teach abstence or only that you can get a disease from sex, that is fear rather than teach the need to choose not to have sex and how to reduce the circumstances it can occur as to under 18's.

I do hope the child will be well, I do like the fact the girl didn't choose to have an abortion. I don't like that some here and elsewhere the negative comments as to her appearance. One doesn't have to be good looking to have sex.

My god, he was only 12 when they conceived! Is there anything "down there" when you're that age? I sure can't remember!

I wonder what that poor boy is thinking now - the seriousness of this all, and that there's no turning back once a sprog has come into the world...

I somehow fear that he is going to grow up with some serious issues. I really feel sorry for him becaus he has been robbed of his youth.

I've got no problems with this...good for the kid for having the initiative for doing something that he could make a profit off of.

It's not like he knocked up anybody and is relying on the state to support him. Every book that kid sells actually adds to the govt. coffers due to sales tax.
