I saw a demo at a Verizon store. While I do have the 8320, I was turned off by the Storm. The features don't really work the way you want them to. When I try to use a function, it takes me somewhere else and it does not press the function that I want. Instead, the screen presses something else.

A rip-off!!! No thanks.

Me too. They really need to fix the wobbly-screen issue. But there’s no reason the screen should be moving around in the Storm's housing like it did in the demo. I mentioned it to the salesperson that was working with me, and she got a brand new Storm fresh out of the box. The touch screen moved around in that one too. I decided to pass on buying one because I thought the build quality of it sucked. A shame, really.  grumpy

In all, I'd say it's a great product. The wobbly screen isn't an issue at all with mine.... After reading that might be an issue I wobbled mine for the first time. It's not a real consideration for me.

HOWEVER.... what really, really, really bugs me about the phone is that the keys when you're typing all get covered over so you don't really know what key you're about to press....

For example, when you turn the phone sideways and get the QWERTY keyboard, and want to press the letter "F", for example, my thumb actually covers all of "F", "G", most of "D", most of "R", and completely hides (but you can be pretty sure you're not clicking on them) "V", "G", "C". Although the letter you're touching glows blue, even the glow isn't really all that helpful.

That is the one thing about the iPhone I really do like.... it sends out a little balloon with the letter you're touching so you know what you're typing.

If BlackBerry fixed this issue, I'd love the phone. RIght now, I'm seriously tempted to go back to my Bold.

The screen is ment to wobble! When you touch the screen without pressing it, it highlights what your going to press. Then you press the screen in and it opens the application. Its a bit like a mouse on a computer.

This post it kind of ironic, as I just lost my Krzr and now have to find a new Verizon phone. Because I just got the Krzr in April I do not recive any discounts and thus having to pay full retail price. Now I have to make a desicion wether to get the Storm or another phone. Considering that the Storm is pretty expensive for a High School student and with all the mixed reviews on it, I do not know if I want to spend that kind of money on it if its not prefect? All help appriciated!

If you hover over the letter first without pressing, it highlights the letter in Blue.

Same here. If they fixed those two issues, I'd be having it by now. I wished T-Mobile carried the phone.

Actually, I take that back.... the blue glow isn't helpful at all.... my thumb covers almost all of the blue glow as well. (And no, my thumbs aren't as big as Shrek's! lol)

Sorry i didnt read your whole post obviously. Well i dont seem to have that problem. To be fair i dont put the whole area of my thumb on it, i sort of put it perpendicular onto the screen if you know what i mean!

I don't know about down under in Australia but I get unlimited data globally on the network. Why would you need WiFi?

This is my first blackberry and my first phone that actually did anything more than make calls and camera. I learned finally hw to move my music files, outlook etc from my laptop onto the phone. I should have learned it months ago but thought it would be too hard. It was actually very simple to set up.

I also like that MS Office is already loaded so I can open attachments to my email. (.DOC/Excell/ppt)

I wish that I could get more apps for it like the I phone has or I haven't found the correct website yet with them.

WiFi is usually faster than 3G cellular data.

I absolutely LOVE my Blackberry Storm! I purchased mine on opening day and couldn't be happier.

Storm users - check out Crackberry.com for all your free apps, particularly Poynt.

BB maps should come standard as part of your phone, but you can download Google maps as well.

If I recall correctly, in Browser, go to m.google.com and then browse through to downloading the applications you want, like gmail, and maps.

Sorry, my friend... I didn't see your request for info earlier.... Unless you have some sort of free data plan, and/or you and/or your parents have deep pockets when it comes to the cell phone budget, you might want to make sure that the added cost of the obligatory data plan is acceptable to whoever is paying the bills.

To be honest, the apps are business oriented. Games are slow in coming. Even the "Docs To Go" which allow you to read MS docs, xls, ppt files is just a demo... if you actually want to edit them you need to upgrade/purchase the program.

If you want a gizmo phone, get the iPhone. It has tonnes of widgets, applications and games. It has wifi which would allow you to take advantage of free internet in most places you'd be going. (The only reason I'm not using the iPhone is because the carrier in Canada is one I'd rather not use.)

So in all honesty, no.... I wouldn't recommend the blackberry (and the exorbitant price) to a high school student. But then I'm a bit of a penny-pincher and pragmatist.....

Just my 2c worth....

WiFi is usually faster than 3G cellular data.

Data is generally not included. Also, in addition, if you're overseas, and need to use a data connection the charges are horrendous. As I found out last year.

I'll go ahead and make a few comments about this phone (as an owner and still have a bb curve)

This phone takes blackberry into a similar league than the iphone - I won't say they are there yet but it is quite close.

The wobbly sceen isn't an issue for me - actually feels kinda neat. Writing on this phone is horrendous though - worse than the iphone by far. On my curve I can write very quickly - on the storm I'm a good 4-5x slower.

OS is nice as a GUI. As software I find it sluggish.

The biggest improvement for me is voice quality. Blackberry's have never been good for voice quality and this one finally does it well.
