Lately I have been researching and trying to inform myself about the movement to Abolish the state governments of Australia. It seems this has been gathering momentum and having asked many adults around me, particularly teachers about their thoughts. It seems from my informal questions that the support is there for the abolition of state governments with Australia turning to larger, more powerful local governments and the Federal government.
For me this system would far outweigh our current three-tiered system. Less taxes for business and individuals, less public servants, less politics, national standards on education and healthcare,
I would just like to see some of the opinions of others, particularly those of individuals from smaller states.
