(Posted the link and not the photo in case anyone would take offence. It's not grusome though).

I prefer looking at the pix on my link...
rather than the pix that's on yours. Frightening!

I always thought that Marilyn looked so much better in her latest more modern hairstyle than she did with that 1950's curl job she always seemed to have in her movies.

Some years ago a magazine published some "never before seen" photos of Marilyn taken in the spring of 62' She was on the beach wearing a denim shirt and jeans. The photos were totally timeless, they could have been taken yesterday.

Anybody else think she is not as pretty as people make her out to be? I don't really understand why people are so fascinated with her. She kind of reminds me of Paris Hilton in that she is famous but shouldn't be.  Yeah sure

I totally agree. I accidentally clicked on that link. Frightening indeed.

She was very pretty. You deny her that? This was a different era, early 50s till early 60s. Film star, no, MOVIE star in the days when that meant something, the girl many wished were next door, the girl most likely to, the girl many men and boys fantasized about. A true pin up girl. the girl women envied. People then followed her life, followed her tragedies and happiness. She married America's favorite ball player Joe Di Maggio, then married American playwrite Arthur Miller. Starred in movies with Clark Gable, Bette Davis, Jack Lemmon. PARIS HILTON??? Really where are the comparisons? Have you ever seen All About Eve, Seven Year Itch, Gentleman Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, Bus Stop, to name a few.

She died young, tragically and unncessarily. Maybe those who are in the public eye who die young become somewhat of an icon to people. Each era has its chosen, and then there are also those who choose to keep those peoples legacy alive. James Dean was another, Brandon Lee, and if you were a gay man who was of age in the early 80s, John Erik Hexum STILL is remembered for his good looks and tragic loss of life at a very early age.

btw, i was not alive during Marilyns death, but even I can appreciate what she left behind. Not saying everyone else has to, but it's not surprising perhaps someone living in the Paris Hilton age would compare the two.

A true case of someone who will always be remembered as young as she was when she died.

Boobs aren't very nice, quite disappointing really, Lohan's looked much better when she mimicked the shots.

She had many facets to her look and apparently she knew it. She took a heavy hand in photo shoots to guarantee the best shots.

I always think that the most interesting people - or perhaps I mean the most beautiful people - are the ones who have great complexity to their looks. In many cases, the most beautiful people can have flaws that somehow allow the viewer in. Marilyn could look fat and frumpy, Catherine Deneuve has a weak chin, Sofia Loren can look horsey from some angles. But all three of these women are compelling.

Marilyn certainly had something special.
