Hi guys, wondering if any tech heads can give me a bit of advice please.
I have a laptop, and a PC, both of which connect to the net via a wireless connection (The PC has a wireless USB stick, Laptop is internal)
At least every week, im getting a problem on the laptop which means I have to restart it.
I go to a site, or reload something and at the bottom I get a comment saying "Resolving Proxy"
I have no idea what it is doing, but when I see it, my internet connection dies, and even when turning the wireless device on and off, turning the main connection on and off, using the inbuilt system to detect a problem, it never resolves it and the only thing to do is restart.
This does not affect the PC at all, and when the net dies on the laptop, the PC's connection works fine with no problems.

Have you checked your Proxy settings? If you dont use a proxy server to get connected check the browser settings to ensure its not set, alternatively compare it to your desktop.
It could be a setting of the browser you''re using as mentioned by others, perhaps theres a security feature thats set to periodically enable/disable or update something thats kicking this in hence the reason why its happening every week.
........(putting on my sherlock homes hat)......... Or maybe you're using your laptop at a different location during the week like school/college/work ets that's enabling a proxy server to gain access to the internet from that location and when you get back home and presumably dont use a proxy server you're getting the error?
