I bought some from whole foods market. They only had the frozen kind so I have to let it thaw out then drink it.

I keep hearing how its the super food. It has chlorophyll which is good for the skin and blood and also people who juice it say 1 once of wheatgrass juice is like eating a pound of vegetables.

After watching this utube video on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTQvD-y4lmU I decided to try it.

So has anyone out there in this vast community tried wheatgrass juice? If so can you speak on the benefits of it, if any that you noticed?

I'd imagine that if you're already healthy you'll see little difference.

In the health food world I think that things are touted as being super foods just to sell them. There doesn't seem to be any obvious research or studies into the claimed benefits.

And when a site, for example,

http://www.sprout.net.au/wht_benefits.html

has....

Here are some of the many health benefits wheatgrass has…

* Aids in the prevention of and fight against infections and improves the body's ability to heal wounds.
* Helps removes heavy metals from the body.
* Absorbs 92 out of the known 102 minerals from the soil.
* Helps with skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis.
* Chlorophyll in wheatgrass helps improve blood sugar disorders.
* Helps eliminate body odours.
* The high magnesium content in chlorophyll builds enzymes that restore the sex hormones.
* Helps prevent tooth decay.
* Chlorophyll in wheatgrass helps purify the liver.
* Arrests the growth of unfriendly bacteria.
* Is an energiser for body and mind.
* Great for constipation and keeping the bowels open.
* Is non-allergenic.
* Aids in the prevention and fight against cancer.

You have to wonder.

If a product was so good it stopped you smelling, stopped your teeth going rotten and improved your sex life then Pfizer would be selling it.

Plus- Wheatgrass juice has long been touted as being all kinds of healthy for you.
Minus- Wheatgrass juice tastes like... well, wheatgrass. I seriously doubt one gets much benefit from wheatgrass juice if one can't keep it down or can't get past the first sip without gagging.

I can drink it with no problem. I bought a co-worker a shot at the new Jamba Juice at ORD. She didn't gag I was so glad lol.

The difficult part is the taste.
