I was thinking today about trends during lunch and crowds..so I pose to all you airliners around the world,....

Do you have a set time you take for lunch, when is that?
How long do you get?
What is your food of choice, where is it eaten?

For me, I get one hour and usually take it at 12:30 ish. My choice is usually a sandwich or pizza eaten at my desk, at the place I bought it, or on benches by the White House people watching...your time.

15 minutes - usually a sandwich and water.  Silly School doesn’t allow too much breaks.

We get 1 hour for lunch, between 12 and 2. I usually go at 1, though sometimes I take 12-1.
I usually eat at my desk. Sandwiches or filled pitta and fruit or yoghurt, if I'm prepared and make it the evening before! or a tin of soup or a ready meal if I don't. We have a kettle, microwave and a toaster in the office kitchen to make use of, and a Waitrose supermarket next door in case I forget anything! Though I often keep a stock of cup noodles, soups and microwaveable rice in my desk.

I can take my lunch whatever time I like sometimes I go home an hour early and not take a lunch. When I do take lunch its usually around 1230 for an hour. I usually go to a local sandwich bar and have my favourite chicken Tikka wrap. We also have a kitchen at work that has a Kettle/fridge/toaster/microwave/radio and TV. Lots of options and sometimes an hour is not enough  Big grin

I take my lunch at 12:00 -- whenever I can, that is -- eh, most of the time I take it at 12 noon. Other days I take it at 12:15 or 12:30 depending on how busy I am at the home...

It depends where and when. On M-Th it is usually at 11 or 1130 though I may take it at noon. On weekends its done at 12 or 1. I usually eat a turkey sub or a turkey wrap with a small salad.

Depends on my shift, It could be 45 min around 10am, 2pm 6pm or anywhere when Im working certain positions where we do our own breaks and don't get them allocated.

Its normally a meal deal from Boots (Sarnie, fruit or crisps (depending on mood) drink and a choc or healthy eating bar)

Currently for us lunch is, in theory, 1115-1215, but sometimes the morning goes a little shorter or longer. I usually eat pretty much right away and then I'll go get my coveralls on and I'm in the hangar by about 11.45 or so. I pretty much always bring a lunch and it's usually either leftovers from the previous supper or a sandwhich and some fruit.
My previous job I had split shifts, usually starting at 1300 and getting off around 1700, and then back again for 2000 or 2100, so I just took lunch at home shortly before going to work.
Prior to that was the golf course working 0500-1300, with a half hour lunch which we could take whenever it was convenient, but again I generally took it around 1100ish.
Days off, I'll usually go dig up some lunch around noonish

I am a bit of an odd ball when it comes to my shift and stuff, so here goes...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For job #1 (working at B6) I work a 4/3 schedule. M - Th 1100 - 2100. Here is what my eating schedule looks like:
0900 - Breakfast at home. South Beach diet breakfast, normally a spinach quish
1230 - Mid-morning snack @ work. South Beach diet suggested snack, normally a cut up veggie
1430 - Lunch @ work. Small salad with a vinegrette-type dressing and some chopped up cheese (which is supposed to be my mid-afternoon snack but I combine 'em because its yummy LOL)
1830 - Dinner @ work. South Beach diet dinner. Normally a small portion of chicken, beef, pork or fish with a veggie.
Then...on to the gym.
All day I drink water...a lot of water. I pee like a race horse all day. Sometimes I treat myself to a big iced coffee. All meals at work are at my desk while I try to get some work done or read up on some things. Typically once I am done eating I get back to work. I am allocated 1 hour for lunch, never calculated if I take it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, job #2 is different. That is F - Sa, 0900 - 1700.

0900 - Breakfast @ work. Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee and either a multi-grain bagle with light cream cheese or one of those egg white flat breads that they have.

1400 - Lunch @ work. Small salad with a vinegrette-type dressing and some chopped up cheese (which is supposed to be my mid-afternoon snack but I combine 'em because its yummy LOL). I also eat my mid-morning snack during lunch.

1800 - Dinner @ home. South Beach diet dinner. Normally a small portion of chicken, beef, pork or fish with a veggie.

Then...on to the gym.

And those are my boring eating habits LOL! My hubby packs me all my meals so I don't really have to buy breakfast/lunch/dinner often so I stick with the diet and save $$.

I can take up to an hour anytime between 12 and 2. I always disappear for the full hour, just because I'm entitled to it and I'd rather not be at my desk Big grin

Since the epic meltdown of DHL Express here in the U.S., I'm unfortunately unemployed. So I take lunch between scrubbing the ads on HotJobs and Monster.com. My lunch menu is whatever is in the kitchen - lately it's been tuna fish sandwiches or frozen french bread pizza  bored

Well I work a completely random roster, so my shifts can be any time of day or night, so my body clock is completely messed up for eating and sleeping, so usually I just eat when i'm hungry... but where I can I will try and have lunch around mid day.

I usually take in lunch around 1500h ... usually do not end up taking in dinner until 2130-2200h. Even though I am trying to cut down on take out, (when I do it is usually Mexican food), I usually try to take something from my workplace or bring leftovers.

Cheers,
