More interesting, I thought, is the reference to kosher telephones. Please, can someone tell me: what is a kosher telephone?
I guarantee you that at no point in Torah, Haftorah, or Talmud is a telephone mentioned.

At first I was going to suggest that it was one that you had to soak in salt and water overnight..... But I gather that they are just old-fashioned phones that can't do what modern ones can - so it's just another 'layer' of censorship really:-
"The “kosher” phone carries a stamp signifying its approval by rabbinical authorities, who will recommend haredi community members to take out contracts with MIRS Communication.
"The Motorola handsets have been modified to disable internet access, SMS text services and video and voice-mail applications.
"Growing concern that new-generation mobile phones could threaten the conservative, ultra-Orthodox values and way of life, particularly among the young, led to a rabbinical committee being formed to examine the issue."

I can guess that you'd now have elements of the Israeli and American intelligence services after you. You know that you aren't allowed to criticise Israel for anything.
They could nuke London tomorrow and it'd still be acceptable.

Quoting NAV20 (Reply 6): Mind you, two weeks later they'd say that they'd completed their investigations and concluded that 'the allegations have no foundation'...............
And the USA would block every condemnation in the UN Scurity Council with a veto.
But back to the topic:
what would these papers have done when Tzipi Livni would have won the election? Would they replace every photo of her with a pic of Lieberman?

.... and then the censuring of Palestinians from Palestine would begin. Oh actually it did over half a century ago.

Its not like anyone would've noticed.

I don't know, probably something similar to kosher washing detergent. From what I have heard, its a sales gimmick. The kosher logo is a trademark and the user company has to pay for its use and since it helps sales with people of Jewish faith, companies choose have to 'certify' their product kosher. Feel free to correct me.

Well, the haredim are a conservative group of people, just like the Mennonites in the USA.
There are groups with the community that don´t recognize Israel, but those are a minority.
