Interesting article. I've always wondered why on those occasions when I've over-indulged my body craved a greasy egg-and-bacon breakfast the next morning.

Alright so they say bacon is high in protein and that that's why it helps... whoop de doo.

I can think of many other things I much rather have than bacon (not that I don't like bacon) to get my protein out of, like say, a filet mignon  snooty   Wink

And heck, if protein is all you need, then why not just drink whey protein? That is absorbed much better than any food protein and in larger quantities.

Because bacon is way more tasty than whey protein? That just sounds like crap  Wink

Btw, I shall test this theory tomorrow morning, I'll let you know how it goes  biggrin

The fact that to cook some bacon, or do yourself a cooked breakfast, in itself takes your mind off how crap you are feeling, has some part to play?
I mean, you don't have to do a lot to tip some milk on some cereal, or just stay in bed feeling sorry for yourself.

That's awesome to know, considering the following:

-My 21st birthday is on Tuesday (as in, 3 days from now)
-I have class the next morning
-I thoroughly enjoy bacon

Why? You allowed bacon during Passover?

I'm glad to hear that the two of you are willing to submit yourselves as experimental subjects...all in the name of science, of course. *koff koff*  Wink

I'm a Jew, yes. Because once a Jew, always a Jew. But I'm an atheist. So I don't keep kosher. Like, I don't even make any pretense or effort.

It's ALL about the food, dude. I could give a flying fig about the religion.

But gefilte fish with the strongest horseradish possible, matzoh ball soup, potato keugel, brisket (yum, brisket!), macaroons... SO good. The only real problem with Passover is the matzoh. Yick.

When I saw the thread title, I just knew who had posted before I read the fine print. And then your article and the pic has my stomach rumbling and not a skerrick of bacon in the house! Grrrr.

The author of the article stands a good chance of having tested it against the effects of Newcastle Brown ale. I wonder if hangovers and cures can be classified against the chemistry of the source "poison"? I wonder how bacon goes as a cure for depression over relegation from the Premier League?

Try four squares of chocolate and half a banana in the morning.  Wink

Pigs are really intelligent so I stopped eating them about 6 years ago.
