My phone contract is running out and I have singled out two options to replace my current Samsung.

They are either the BlackBerry Curve 8900, or the Nokia 5800.

Any recommendations would be awesome. I've never had a Blackberry before.

I've had 8 blackberry phones and several models. Love them. They are the most popular phone by far for a pda. Took almost 5% more market share last quarter. Overwhelming favorite for the business traveler.

8900 is great... get one... but if you can wait a 3g version is coming soon according to the rumor sites.

I use the Nokia E71, similar to a blackberry. Awesome phone, has everything one would need!

I would definitely get the Blackberry. I love my 8310.

Just wish that I had a 8320. I unlocked mine from AT&T.. no wifi.  Sad

I had a Nokia once, one drop, boom, speaker breaks, two drops, no inside screen. It was hell.
POS.

You're calling the phone a piece of sh*t because it stopped working after you dropped it? Phone's aren't meant to be dropped... hence why yours stopped working.

Im pretty sure that they are designed to take the impact of being dropped. I would call a phone that doesnt work after being dropped a failure. Even the Iphone can be dropped and still work.

I have a 8320, and love it. Very sturdy phone, and its been thru hell and back. Im looking to get the 8900 when it comes out but will def see if a 3G variant is coming to TMO. If not, i might have to give ATT a try with the bold.

PS: i have seen an old nokia 6800? being thrown at a wall breaking apart, then when it was put together everything was working.

I believe these two phones have different philosophies. Nokia 5800 is a music phone while BlackBerries are business phones.

Have you checked the features and specifications of both phones?

Oh please. Have you never dropped a phone before? I suspect you have and would be pissed off if it broke immediately the first time.

Personally I'd go for the Blackberry. IMO, the Nokia OS is just irritating and the last one I had also was of a very poor quality. Cheap plastics not the way to go.

Yes, but ultimately its my fault, not that of the phone manufacturer...
