This is absolutely disgusting. This lady in ABQ smothers her son, revives him (after God knows how long) and then smothers him again. What kind of sick person, let alone MOTHER would do such a thing?

While I agree that's what should happen, she will likely be put into general population. Unless she poses a threat to herself and/or others, it will be difficult to get her placed at the state's facility for the mentally ill in Las Vegas, NM.

Well obviously she's severely mentally ill. Besides jailtime or mental asylum, she will receive one of the worst punishment imaginable: once the doctors have gone through her and drugs kick in....she may come to her senses. When the fact that she killed her son (and how) starts to sink in....a fact that she might have to live with for the rest of her life (unless she takes the easy way out). That would be the ultimate punishment for her....can't think anything worse for a parent.

Premeditation = First Degree Murder. Although premeditation legally can happen in a matter of seconds, this crime seems methodically planned out.
Ok, tiny rant over. I'm just tired of seeing female criminals getting charged/sentenced with lesser charges when they do the exact same crimes as men.

That is a perfect example of someone suffering from mental disorder. A classic case of transference.
