I'm having a weird problem with my ipod touch, I can't play any YouTube videos..it says "this movie cannot be played". It was working fine just minutes ago. I even reset the ipod but it says the same thing. Everything else works fine except the YouTube bit. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance  Smile

Are you getting a strong enough wi-fi connection?

Not a problem here. Have you searched for one specific clip or do all videos have a problem?

YouTube originally started with all its videos in the proprietary Flash format; Only when Apple pushed them specifically they started to re-encode many videos into the much better and standardized h.264 format which the iPhone and iPod Touch can play natively (but not Flash).

So Flash-only videos (which may still exist) will not play, but the already converted ones do. Have you tried "Featured Videos" in the YouTube app? These play without a hitch here.

Yup. Connection is not a problem as I can use the internet/check emails.

All the videos seem to have the problem.

Ok yeah, the featured videos play, but the ones I had bookmarked don't. They were working just a few hours ago, but they don't work now?  confused

Then the YouTube server seems to have a problem with these videos right now. I'd just re-check them tomorrow.
