well since no one else seems to be posting about this, the old thread is archived and all, are we still interested in a meet on the date above folks? Or did the A380 settle everyone's nerves about a meet for a bit?
I'm still up for it, so what do we say folks?

When do you guys meet? The earliest I could be there would be with the LH flight from FRA on the 21st. But I think it arrives in the afternoon, which would be a little too short then?
Sure, why not? They cannot start spotting early enough
I just checked flights and it is not really worth it as I have to fly back on the 22nd. So I would arrive earliest around 1pm in YYZ and need to leave the next day. And flights aren't empty as well...

I will not be able to make it this time. June and July are looking to be quite busy baby wise with several deliveries scheduled for that weekend and I am unable to arrange coverage for myself as that is my relief's vacation week.
Simply raise a jumbo Brahma for me in honor past YYZ meets
We might be in YYZ around July 22 for the Dead Weather show. If so we would be found at the Wendy's remembering better days and friends departed.

I was just rereading the threads from the 2006 meet and I was surprised to find that over 70% of those who attended that meet are no longer posting here. Heck ScarletHarlot has not renewed her membership. It appears in this I may be found not guilty of thread homicide as the lack of life in this thread may be caused by "natural causes"
Oh well maybe modern science will find a way to breathe new life into the posting activity of my inactive friends and a fall thread will appear that is full of life and sunshine (pretty flowers and joy for all, where everyone will sing songs by Donovan while watching the planes go by)

You're right IHAP. The forums aren't the same and a lot of good people are no longer here If April sees this, I hope she sends me an email to explain herself for letting her membership lapse! I also hope she had some bacalhau yesterday to celebrate Portugal Day.

I an sad to miss the meet no matter it's size as some of my fondest memories from this site (both in my crew days and as a mere member) were had at the YYZ meets. If anyone is considering attending I highly recommend them as they are a blast and the people who attend them are some of A.nets best and brightest.
Speaking of memories of good times from days gone by ......
what was his beef with this poor animal,,,,
I will keep checking the forums for any meets later this year and who knows maybe we could make it to the next one.

Oh yes if anyone does contact Scarlet tell her the chimp says "Hi" and that I am busy tending to the roses,,,,,

I may show up on Sunday. It's suppsed to be mostly cloudy, so I don't know whether I'll be going. Depends how many people plan on attending. My photos always turn out crappy in cloudy conditions anyways. Unless there are some photographers that are willing to give me tips :P I suspect the meeting place would be Wendy's no matter the wind direction?
I'm definately in for a meet in August if someone plans it. And I think a dinner is needed like the last meeting.

Unfortunately, I can't attend. The worst part is that even if there would be another meet in August, I couldn't come either. Four of five weekends in August I have already "booked".

I wouldn't mind coming out but it is supposed to start raining in the afternoon. The YYZ meet came to my mind today and I thought it was Saturday (today). If enough people will turn out I don't have a problem coming out but with the weather and my lack of DSLR (I have to reserve/borrow one from school) I don't know if I want to come out. I'll monitor the thread though.

The Weather network shows it's supposed to be sunny in the morning so I may go earlier than usual. I'd like to get there between 09:30-10:00, but I'll see whether I go depending on what I see outside my window tomorrow morning.
This doesn't look like it's going to be a large turnout for a bunch of spotting together. I'd like to get to meet a few more members, even if some don't have DSLRs.
I hope you come out so we can meet, unlike last summer when we were like 20 feet away from each other without realizing it. lol

I left my scanner at my place in Barrie (where I go to school) so I don't think I'll be making it out since I have no idea which runways are in use. I don't see any planes near me so it's not 23 or 24R.

I had a fun day. I spent 7 hours under the hot sun, and got sun burned....really bad. Didn't meet any a.netters, but I met a guy there and talked planes and photography with him for about 6 hours. Turned out I met him 2 years ago at the same spot. I remembered him after he told me his name, and described his friend that was with at the time during summer '07.
I always have bad luck with the planes though...alot of the internationals go to the runway I'm NOT at. By moving to the runways that had more arrivals I missed: BOTH KLM flights, LH A346, Alitalia, Finnair, Carribean Airlines, Air India, Icelandair (well, security shooed us away from 06L because there were too many cars parked there), and others I can't remember at the moment.
A Thomas Cook (Scandanavia?) A330 came in as a nice surprise to me.
