Hi all,
In approximately 10 minutes is kick-off for the UEFA Under 21 Final game between Germany and England. Both teams played a pretty good tournament but I think that the German team will be the winner in the end.
I am very glad that my friend Mats Hummels is playing from the beginning tonight. Go Mats, go! We want to drink with an European Champion on Friday night!
What do you guys think? Who will be the winning team tonight?

You know Mats Hummels personally? Cool! Send him my congratulations as well! Hopefully the whole team will get the reception it deserves, and I'm talking about the traditional reception at the Frankfurter Römer.
Quoting Dc9northwest (Reply 1): Good play by Germany. And great display by Hummels. My congratulations.
He did play well, but I do have to say that Özil, particularly in the second half, was on fire as well. And of course, Sandro Wagner with his goals in the end.
Honourable mention goes to Manuel Neuer. I thought that he may be as insecure as he was during the last couple of Bundesliga seasons, but he's shown his talent and kept the goal as clean as possible (with only one goal against). In the end, it was simply a well done team effort! We should be proud of our boys, for they have shown why they are the future of our team!

Yes, we had a few great party nights before he dissapeared to Sweden. I am glad that he did! Nobody of us knew that before, so I am even more happy that he made such a great game tonight! (I was even happy when I saw him coming in the 90th - or so - minute last Friday).
Quoting LTU932 (Reply 3): Send him my congratulations as well!
I will do that! We'll drink on that cup on Friday!

Kudos to the whole team! They all did a fantastic job! I hope that they'll have a nice party tonight (so far no SMS respond from Mats ).

Quoting Gkirk (Reply 5): The English got beat by the sausage jockeys?
As always.
Quoting OHLHD (Reply 6): Seasonticket is also already in my pocket.
No season ticket for me this time. Somehow I think that it is not necessary since I know a few BVB players. I already got an "Ehrenkarte - Zugang Rote Erde Club" twice last season.
Quoting OHLHD (Reply 6): So Patrick, when will you come?
This upcoming season definitely! I want to travel a bit more to watch football and to expand my "Stadiums-I-have-been" list.

Indeed a very good match !
Reminded my of the words I once was confronted with by an Englishman in a pub in Bayswater back in 1996: The English team can play really impressive throughout any tournament, but then they face Germany in the Final and, of course, loose ...
_____
When I went through all the (german) player's names, I realized how many of them meanwhile are valuable backbones of their respective teams at home.

Well done, Deutschland.
I believe Germany is getting more experienced as they did in the old days (70s until late 90s). More talented players and that means more trophies. Hope the national team is not going to disappoint the football enthusiasts during WC2010 campaign.

Indeed! I knew every single player by name from the Bundesliga.
Quoting LTU932 (Reply 9): What about next season's Tippspiel?
I cancelled our team because very few people participated in the last months. But I can set up a new team next week, I want to win something, even when it is a shirt or a stadium ticket.

The first game will be Wolfsburg vs. Stuttgart. Traditionally a Friday night game, also watchable on free-TV (ARD). I am looking forward and I can't wait!

And I can probably watch that match live as well!
As for my team, St. Pauli will start, as is becoming traditional, at home. This time against RW Ahlen.
