This has been a long time coming. Hope it doesn't get named Rajiv Gandhi sea link or some crap like that. I think the current name is fine.

Not yet....The debate is to name it after Rajiv Gandhi or Veer Savarkar.

I feel the existing name is fine....BWSL [Bandra Worli Sea link].....most ppl will remember this only.

Personally....I believe Why name something which the Locals will not remember a few yrs later. If naming is needed then name it after a person who contributed to the city in the project involved.
As for Sunil Gavaskar,he has more than enough Cricket stadium areas allotted to him.

Went for a Drive on Sunday.....Not much traffic, thanks to the oneway toll  Smile
Covered the distance at a leisure speed in 10 minutes.
when the other four lanes open up it will def be a huge traffic reduction. Also the original route has its traffic reduced,as people are using the link.

win-win situation.

Have travel times improved now that the free days have finished? When it first opened it was taking people an hour to get across because it was free and everyone wanted to try it! Well done Mumbai for building this though! It was definitely needed!! Roads (well where there are roads often they wouldn't pass as being called a road) are terrible there!
