I was curious how the weather is in other parts of the country/world this summer. Is it very hot? rainy? cool? Here on Long Island it has been very cool and rainy so far this summer. Since June it has only gotten to 80 degrees twice! But I don't mind, I rather have this weather than have temps in the 90's with high humidity!

Foggy, overcast, windy and in the low 60s.
Typical San Francisco summer weather.

We had a good spell in Ireland. Some nice hot Sunny days but the last few days have seen torrential rain and floods. Really mixed. Also some very heavy , steamy days with Thunder storms.

It hasn't been overly hot in Calgary this summer, but we have had (until yesterday) almost zero precipitation for quite some time. It's been mild here and rather pleasant, but very dry.

This time of the year is when we usually get our +30C weather... and it's in severely short supply thus far.  Sad

Here in DEN, we have been getting very odd weather. It has been extremely wet this summer. The average rainfall is really way above average!!! Not overly hot, but still warm. We get the thunderstorms almost every afternoon in the last month or so which is quite unusual around here.

A week in the life of Oklahoma City:

Monday: 95, humid, clear skies

Tuesday: 115, dry, clear skies, rain

Wednesday: 63, rain, cloudy, possibility of snow over night

Thursday: 85, 30% Chance of Storms.... 9PM comes and GOOOD GAWD THERE's AN F5 on the ground! We got an F5 ON THE GROUND!

Friday: 115, Clear Skies, Windy and Dusty...

Saturday: 80, (Remember folks, the Tornado Sirens will go off at noon, but don't be alarmed). Partly Cloudy

Sunday: 95, 80% Chance of Storms..... (9PM and it's 75, clear skies, hasn't stormed at all but they did test the sirens once more just to mess with you).

In other words, we never know, but it's pretty much this way the entire year. I've had Christmases when it was 80 degrees, and some when it was -10 with blowing snow. We have about a week of pleasantness between each season.

But one thing you can always count on, the winds will be anywhere from 20-55 MPH everyday.

In and around Atlanta:
The last three weeks it's been over 90 every day with at least 75% humidity -- in other words, standard fare.

Two weeks ago it was over 100 with 95% humidity for the better part of a week.

We really haven't had that bad a summer so far here in DC. May and the first part of June were really wet and miserable, but it has dried out now, and temps are only hitting the mid-80s with none of the humidity we typically see here. I've lived in DC most of my life, and can't remember a summer that has been this pleasant so far. Great grilling weather!  bigthumbsup

There was great weather last week in London, very sunny and temperatures of 89F (31.8C) but that all changed over the weekend and it has gradually become worse throughout the week. Today was the worst with plenty of wind, rain and the odd rumble of thunder.

I can only remember about four days since the beginning of June on which we have not received some amount of rainfall. It has been both sunny and rainy basically every day, with high temps ranging between 73-96 F.

Much the same here in KBUF. The weather station at my daughters school (tied into the weatherbug) says that it is 64.8 F or 18.1 C

Tomorrow they claim it will be a bit warmer still quite a bit cooler than normal.

Almost time to break out a light jacket, oh well I still have 3 months before I have to tune up the snow blower (it started to run a bit rough at the end of last season)!!

Well, it's definitely got variety! Actually, we probably have the best and most beautiful thunderstorms in the US. They are simply stunning rolling in and on the backside as well. Huge towers, and about as many cloud variations as you can imagine.

Exaggeration...but our weather is really weird. I think we got one day of snow this past season.

You have to remember we get up to nearly 50C down here sometimes, and getting below 20C is cold for us. However I like the cold weather, and hate the hot weather.

Seattle has been SPECTACULAR! It's been warm, sunny and no rain since well before Memorial day weekend (May 22). The running joke in Seattle is that "Summer" begins on July 5th (just after Independence Day). It seems like that has been the case the past couple of years.

I grew up on Long Island and loved it. But I can't go back. The humidity is tough for me to handle. Makes me lethargic. My family has been complaining since MAY about the weather...."too cold, too much rain". I just keep quiet and listen...makes them feel better.

Cheers!
