If anyone can help out, that'd be much appreciated. Here it is :
I tried opening itunes, but was unable to, due to accidental deleting of Quick Time.
Now, a message is telling me to delete/uninstall itunes and re install it again. No problem there. Now, here's the problem : If i delete my itunes, will i loose all my library, in the process?
Well, thanks all for any help/suggestions.
Cheers.

As long as the song files are still on your computer/hard drive, you should be fine.

You'll be fine. Just to be on the safe side, you can always cut and paste the folder with all your music in another directory, so that iTunes won't have a clue where it is = there's absolutely no way it could touch the files.
When you have to breaststroke to your connecting flight...it's a crash!

Open up your iTunes, (I'm assuming your on a Windows Machine, correct me if I'm wrong) hit Ctrl + , then navigate to the Advanced tab. Where it says "iTunes Music Folder Location" Copy that location into the "Run" (Windows Button + R) and navigate to that folder, and back it up on an external drive.
I'm extremely cautious about anything I do in iTunes, because my mother once, inadvertently, managed to do something.. and I lost everything, and this was when I was stupid and didn't realize I could just copy it from my iPod using Windows Explorer.. oh well.. LOL.
Whoever said you can do anything you set your mind to has obviously never tried to slam a revolving door!!!

I know that feeling. Don't do what I did once. I backed up my iTunes for a full system restart. I loaded my library again, and the next thing I knew, every audio file and song from my computer was listed in my iTunes library - twice. It took me a few days to get it fixed. My suggestion to you is to buy an external hard drive, and every so often, copy your iTunes library, and ONLY the audio files, etc. you might have on the iPod onto the hard drive. This is what I have done. This way, if I get a new computer, manage to wipe out my library, etc., I just have to copy the songs, TV shows, etc. from the external HD back into the library.

I lost the whole lot when my old computer went south. I've downloaded itunes to this new computer but haven't connected the ipod yet. Will I be able to find the parts of my itunes that aren't on the ipod ?

That happened to me when I copied my iTunes library from my old computer to my new one back in January. I was lucky I only had about 650 songs at the time in my library, but it still took me over an hour to clean up the duplicates.
